Kyah and Gio’s clifftop Bali wedding
Set on the dramatic clifftops of Bali’s Uluwatu, this clifftop Bali wedding was the perfect mix of elegant and classic, with some traditions woven through.
It’s a Gen Z love story to last forever. Kyah and Gio connected in the modern way – on Instagram. To complicate matters, they weren’t even in the same country. “He was in New Zealand, and I was in Australia!” explains Kyah, the bride. It only took two weeks of talking for Gio to jump on a flight and cross the ocean.
“He told me was going to come and meet me,” says Kyah. “I was questioning him: what do you mean? I could be a killer, for all you know!” But, when you know, you know. And from that day forward, the two have never spent a night apart.
The Edge in Bali’s Uluwatu is a beautiful wedding location.
When it came to the proposal, well, there wasn’t one with fanfare. The couple came to an honest, mutual decision that they were ready for ‘forever’. “We literally just talked about it one day and decided to do it. It was a mutual decision based on love and what we wanted for our future and family,” she says.
Kyah and Gio settled on Bali as their destination when planning their wedding. Having never travelled as a couple, this felt like the best time to start their big adventure. “We thought, why not make it a destination wedding! The venues in Bali are stunning!” gushes the bride.
Their chosen venue, The Edge Bali, ticked every box: breathtaking views, dreamy accommodation, and a team that made them feel at home. “The staff were so unbelievably wholesome! Everyone was top-tier, whether they were helping us for the whole stay or just for five minutes. Couldn’t recommend them enough.”
The day itself didn’t start off in the way that you would hope, with Kyah waking up not feeling her best. But, ever the trooper, she was determined to stay present. “I made sure not to stress — the day would turn out the same whether I stressed or not. I just wanted to be in the moment.”
Her husband, on the other hand? He was one cool customer. “He said he felt no stress. Must be nice!” she laughs.
Once the ceremony began, everything came perfectly together. Like the bride’s vision brought to life. “Walking out, I saw everything I asked for. It was straight off my Pinterest board!”
From fire dancers to the heartfelt moments that the guests will remember long after the plan landed back home, it was pure magic.
