When Jayde Ferrier and Sean Higgins, both 25-year-old diesel mechanics, were looking to create a natural-themed wedding, a cave seemed pretty close to nature.

“We wanted it very natural and classic,” says Jayde. “The reception being in a cave was already so beautiful, we kept the decoration simple black and white.”

Light pink was chosen for the bridesmaids to create a timeless look. “We thought about our wedding photos being on our wall forever and we didn’t want to have to forever match our furniture and decorations to a bright colour that although beautiful, we may not want to look at for the next 50 or so years,” explains Jayde.

Like most couples, Jayde and Sean underestimated how much planning and organising goes into putting a wedding together. “For everything booked, hours and hours of research was behind it,” says Jayde. “We also learnt the value of being punctual with RSVPs.”

The pair were married on January 4, 2014 with the elegant wedding destination of Yanchep National Park, Western Australia.

Jayde and Sean are both diesel mechanics and she said their first meeting outside of work was when they realised their connection. “It didn’t hurt that we saw each other out of our mechanic overalls for the first time,” she laughs.

“Even when she is really, really mad she still cooks my favourite meals,” Sean says of his new wife Jayde.

The cave reception was a huge hit with guests. “Everyone pretty much said the cave was beautiful, different, and awesome,” says Jayde.
