Sometimes you are lucky enough to be seated next to a hottie on the plane, but you don’t usually expect a romance to blossom.
Thanks to Nick Corrick’s observation skills, a conversation was started with Jessica Robson – Brisbanites both Melbourne-bound for the Hamish & Andy Show.
“I was playing Sudoku and he must have thought I needed help as he leant over my shoulder, pointed to an empty box and said ‘that’s a nine’,” recalls Jessica, 27. “We went to the show together and spent the night out partying in Melbourne.”
Fast forward about a year-and-a-half and the couple got engaged in Fiji. “Nick [30] took me sailing on a Hobie Cat – it was a beautiful sunny day and the water was crystal clear,” explains Jessica. “As I started to relax and enjoy the view of the horizon Nick got on one knee and pulled out a gorgeous one-carat diamond.”
The couple were married at Glengariff Historic Estate in Daybrook on March 29, 2014. Ironically, the groom was late to their traditional wedding. “Nick had car trouble and was late,” says Jessica. “His father called me and told me I needed to be even later! After a minor heart attack he informed me it was all OK.”
Jessica’s princess gown with sweetheart neckline was from Brides by the Bay.
“Every day I still get butterflies when I think of him. I smile when his name comes up on my phone and we prefer to do everything together,” Jessica says of her groom.
It rained the entire week leading up to Jessica and Nick’s wedding day, but the clouds cleared just in time!
A trash the dress shoot on the morning after the wedding was a highlight. “It was so much fun and I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity,” says Jessica.
