Georgina and Adam lock in love at elegant wedding in Melbourne

Adam Thobis was something of a savior for Georgina Iviglia.

Georgina, 34, was suffering through a heartbreaking relationship breakdown, but Adam, 29, was there to help her through. “Adam and I met when I was reeling from a betrayal that ended in divorce and the sale of my home,” explains the bride. “Adam spent two years on a rollercoaster of emotion and distress, picking me up every time I fell, reassuring me every time I doubted myself, slowly repairing my faith in myself and my trust in others.”

They married at their elegant wedding on September 5, 2015 in the presence of 70 guests. A ceremony at St John’s Anglican Church in Toorak, Victoria was followed by a reception at Artusi Restaurant in Southbank. “The beautiful old bluestone church and its gardens are just stunning,” Georgina says of the location.

As well as a wishing well, the couple incorporated a love-lock frame made by the bride’s dad. “The love-lock frame idea came from when we were travelling Europe and we placed a lock with our initials on a bridge in Berlin,” Georgina explains. “Dad designed the frame so that we could have each guest lock a small antique lock on it… we did this instead of a guest book as we felt it was something we could have on display.”

Desflora designed the couple’s detailed buttonholes and bouquets which, believe it or not, are silk. “This had a huge impact in reducing stress as we had the flowers weeks beforehand,” says Georgina.

 

Triple R Luxury Car Hire provided the couple’s classic Rolls Royce Wraith black sedan, “which was stunning and the people from Triple R were amazing,” praises Georgina.

“My mother always said, ‘When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window.’ Adam is my window,” smiles the bride.

Georgina and Adam chose Orlando Combo jazz band who entertained with old Hollywood style songs to suit the style of the night. “We were able to decide on the band size and instruments,” says the bride, who went with a quintet.
