Family members pull together to create Rikki and Adam’s romantic garden wedding

Australia-born Rikki married Canadian Adam at a romantic garden wedding surrounded by family and friends from across the globe. The sun was shining and everyone came together to celebrate as one.

For the couple, priorities lay with keeping things simple, elegant and romantic. The focus was on family, love and everyone feeling relaxed while having a blast.

Rikki and Adam made a point of including many personal touches throughout the day to make it uniquely theirs. At the garden ceremony, held at Distillery Botanica, the couple's eight-month-old niece and 10-month-old nephew began the bridal processional pulled along in a wagon made by Rikki's dad, before Rikki and Adam exchanged personal vows that left everyone in tears.

Later, at the reception held at Umina Beach Surf Club, Adam's dad surprised everyone by singing and performing a song on the piano that he wrote especially for the newlyweds.

Several decor elements were DIYed by family members. Adam's 85-year-old grandfather hand-carved wooden names for the bridal table, ring box and cake topper, while Rikki's mother made the delicious one-tier wedding cake herself. Additionally, Adam and his sister contributed by making a special wedding 'shot ski' - a Canadian tradition - which had the couple taking shots after cutting their cake.
