When Daniel whipped out a ring box during a holiday in Bali, Emma immediately assumed it was a joke and laughed.
“The laughter soon turned into happy tears when I realised it wasn’t a joke,” says the bride. “Both of our parents are separated so marriage was something we both could take or leave – but we knew we wanted to share our lives together.”
With the goal of paying for their modern waterview wedding themselves, Emma and Daniel had a longer engagement of three years to save up and put on the best celebration they could for their family and friends.
The couple, aged 31 and 30 respectively, wed on November 24, 2018 with a ceremony at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron and reception at the Harbour Room in St Kilda, Victoria.
“We chose the Harbour Room to tie in with the beach theme of Dan’s proposal. We wanted minimalist styling for our wedding and the venue on its own without the florals and styling was beautiful enough.”

Emma wore two gowns on the day: the first by Made With Love and the second a lace number by Grace Loves Lace.
“Dan and I met seven years ago through mutual friends. We couldn’t believe we hadn’t crossed paths sooner due to our social groups being so entwined.”
Blazyn Nights kept the good times rolling all night long.
