From Hustle to High-Profit: How to reclaim your creative time in 2026
Audit your admin: How to identify (and kill) the tasks stealing your creative time
As a wedding professional, your “product” is your creativity. Whether you’re an 11-year veteran or a scaling venue team, the goal is always the same: to be present, intuitive, and artful.
However, as we recently explored in our webinar with MYOB, many entrepreneurs are unknowingly operating at a “capacity deficit.” You aren’t running out of talent; you’re running out of time.
The average wedding pro spends way too much time each week on purely operational tasks. If you feel like you’re working 60-hour weeks but your business isn’t growing, it’s time for an Admin Audit.
Step 1: The Three-Bucket Audit ($10 vs. $1,000 Tasks)
During our session with MYOB, we discussed the “Friction Filter.” To scale, you must categorise every task on your plate into one of three buckets:
- The $10 Tasks (Automate/Delegate): Data entry, chasing receipts, resizing images for your storefront, and checking if an invoice has been paid. These are low-value, high-volume tasks that steal your energy.
- The $100 Tasks (Streamline): Initial enquiry responses, sending contracts, and basic social media scheduling. These require a “human” touch but should be powered by templates.
- The $1,000 Tasks (Prioritise): Actual “on-the-day” service, high-level networking, brand strategy, and closing the booking. This is where your ROI lives.
The CEO move: If you are spending 5 hours a week on $10 tasks, you are effectively “paying” yourself $10/hr. To grow, you must outsource the $10 tasks to technology.

2. Lost paperwork means lost money
Going out and getting business expenses isn’t just a simple task anymore. You need ot keep track of all your spending and your receipts. But if you’re a little more creative-side rather than self-management side, there are tools in market now to make sure that you spend less time rifling through the shoebox of receipts, and more time getting to know your couples.
In our webinar, we highlighted that “Admin Stress” often peaks at tax time because of a year’s worth of “I’ll do that later” moments.
The insight: Managing your finances shouldn’t be a quarterly “event”; it should be a background process.
The tool: By using a tool like Solo, you can “Snap and Go”—taking a photo of a receipt the moment you buy those flowers or that new lens. AI does the data entry, and you never have to look at a shoebox of paper again.
3. Automating where you can
Weddings are always going to be a people-first business. I mean, this is someone’s love story after all. But it’s possible to remain people-first whilst automating tasks that can make or break booking a couple.
We know that 28% of suppliers win the majority of bookings because they respond within an hour. But you can’t be “always on” while you’re at a wedding or a shoot.
The fix: This is where Human Automation comes in. An automated, but highly personal, “Instant Reply” via your storefront ensures the couple feels seen immediately, allowing you to stay focused on your creative work without losing the lead.
4. The “Energy Manager” Philosophy
Sarah Davoli spoke about being calm for her couples. To bring that calm, supportive energy to a wedding, you cannot be stressed about an unpaid invoice or a missing contract.
The insight: Systems don’t just save time; they save bandwidth. When your “back-office” is automated, your “front-of-house” (your art) becomes effortless.
Your action plan: Kill the admin… this week
Audit: For the next 48 hours, write down every task you do that isn’t “Creating.”
Delete: If it’s a $10 task, download Solo by MYOB to do it for you.
Reclaim: Use those 5 saved hours to reach out to three new venues or planners for a coffee catch-up.
