Believe it or not the ravishing and intricately detailed wedding gown and headpiece (and a matching purse) above is made from, wait for it, toilet paper! Yes, good, old-fashioned TP.
It’s just one of the 10 equally impressive finalist in Cheap Chic Weddings’ annual Toilet Paper Contest which is, naturally, sponsored by a toilet paper manufacturer.
The finale, which was held in New York last week earned 28-year-old Susan Brennan, creator of the winning gown, called Romance on a Roll, a whopping $10,000.
The second-place toilet paper wedding gown designer scored $5,000 and the third place prize-winner won $2,500.[ew-supplier-carousel]
Susan’s ornate, full-length gown comprises of a complex lace design made from 20 rolls of toilet paper and inspired by the flapper dresses of the 1920s.
The competition celebrated its tenth year this year and entrants had to create a gown using only toilet paper and tape or glue. The only catch, entrants had to use the sponsor, Charmin’s, toilet paper.
The gown must have been able to be worn by a human and it had to be able to be put on and taken off.
Entries were judged on creativity, originality, beauty and “the use of toilet paper.”
