Are you located in NSW and searching for the perfect wedding ceremony location? Sometimes the most beautiful ceremony settings don’t offer the nicest rotunda or chapel – and this can often dictate where couples choose to say ‘I do’. But we’ve found something that will let you have your cake and eat it too!
The Travelling Chapel is coming to town. Your town, my town – whichever town you wish!
What is it?
The Travelling Chapel is just that – the cutest mobile wedding chapel that travels to the location of your choice. Whether you’re dreaming of a barefoot ceremony on the beach, a romantic gathering in the countryside, or saying ‘I do’ atop a breathtaking mountain range, the sky is the limit when it comes to The Travelling Chapel. Or, if you simply aren’t sure where to host your wedding, the creative team behind The Travelling Chapel will point you in the right direction to ensure you host a magical and memorable event that suits your style and budget.
“We create cohesive memorable events that friends and families will be able to experience. No two weddings are alike, nor is the creative process,” says David from The Travelling Chapel.
How did this come about?
David and Nadine, the geniuses behind The Travelling Chapel, originally set out to purchase a property in the Hunter Region and use it to generate an income. When it came to what income, the usual ideas floated around. The pair first thought to turn the property into a rural retreat, and this snowballed into creating somewhere that can hold weddings.
When David floated the idea of a little white chapel, Nadine was on board instantly. However, the pair realised it was too soon to act on their plans to relocate to the country, and understood that it would be another five years before family commitments would allow their dream to come true.
Nadine, still in love with the idea of building the little white chapel, said one morning “We make it mobile, then we can take it anywhere.”

David has two decades of experience building sets for the events and marketing industry. With David’s experience building floats for the Chinese New Year and for Mardi Gra’s, the dream suddenly became achievable. And, as luck would have it, David’s company still had a flatbed trailer before for the job. And so, The Travelling Chapel idea was born.
Construction of The Travelling Chapel
Over 12 weeks of construction, David built The Travelling Chapel in the front yard of their Mount Anna home. Nadine fed David design ideas, and with his own two hands, David built the quaint little church seen today. Over the construction duration, several excited and curious neighbours watched as the Chapel came to life.
When it came to the colour scheme and interior design, Kaity Sutherland from You’re Invited By Kaity lent a helping hand.
“With Kaity’s advice the interior and exterior of the chapel became a beautiful contemporary vivid white, which sat well with the black door hardware and beach floor and oak seats inside,” David says. “The chapel was complete and ready to get on the road!”
