Keira Knightly took the popular wedding adage “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” to new levels during her weekend wedding. It seems the bride opted to wear one of her old dresses rather than a swanky new designer gown.
A quick Google search shows the Atonement star appears to have worn the very same (and still utterly lovely) knee-length, tulle Rodarte gown she wore to the 2008 BAFTAs during her intimate wedding to Klaxons keyboardist James Righton in the south of France this weekend.
Though it may seem odd that Keira, who is reportedly worth a whopping 30-million pounds, would recycle her wedding dress, we know that she never did consider her wedding day to be much of a “big deal.”
In fact, during a recent appearance on the Ellen show, Keira admitted knowing nothing about weddings, saying, “… I think, I’m just not one of those girls who’s had the fantasy wedding thing,” she said.
“So, we haven’t planned anything and it’s all quite terrifying and I sort of looked up on the internet if you’re getting married what should you do?”
“I really don’t have a clue,” she later added. “I don’t get what the big deal is. You say ‘I do’ ‘I do’ and you drink a bit.”
Keira matched her very sweet wedding gown with cute peach ballet flats and a simple garland of flowers in her hair. She topped it all off with an elegant white, tweed Chanel jacket.
The whole wedding seemed to have been a bit of a last-minute affair with James’ dad Nicholas telling The Sun newspaper that “We were only told to turn up the night before.”
The couple wed in the tiny Provence community of Mazan and only 11 guests were present, including Sienna Miller, Karl Largerfeld and a few of James’ fellow Klaxons band members.
