UK couple Julie Webb-Flint and her hubby Jason love Disney.
They really, really, really LOVE Disney.
So much so, when the Disney-obsessed couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary last month it had a Disney theme – and the bride ditched the white dress and veil, opting instead for a Minnie Mouse costume – ears and all!
Naturally, the groom wore a Mickey Mouse suit – and even the pastor joined in, dressing as Little John from Robin Hood.
Most of the 107 guests came dressed as Disney characters, and in the crowd, Shrek, Buzz Lightyear, Rapunzel and even the seven dwarves could be seen.
The couple’s sons Liam and Luke wore Donald Duck and Goofy outfits and Jason’s parents came dressed as Shrek and Fiona.
“We had our original honeymoon at Disney World in America,” said Julie.
“We are Disney fanatics. It’s something that’s in our blood.
“It’s the feel-good factor. You only have to see the characters and they make you smile.”
The idea started as a joke, but quickly snowballed into the official 20th wedding anniversary theme as enthusiastic friends and family agreed to join in the fun.
“We were excited to see what they would come as,” she adds. “Most people rang up before to check what other characters were going but some people left it as a surprise.”
Before the vow renewal ceremony, Julie walked down the aisle to a traditional wedding march, but only until the Mickey Mouse theme kicked in. The couple, both 42, left the Dartford church with the Shrek version of The Monkees’ hit, I’m a Believer blaring.
As Mrs. Flint walked down the aisle to the traditional wedding march, the Mickey Mouse theme tune kicked in and she skipped and danced the rest of the way.
They had a Minnie Mouse cake, Disney decorations galore and even movie posters that paid homage to their favourite Disney flicks.
“It was a fantastic day.
“The best bit for us was when we went to the local park for a group photo, which we did when we first got married.
“It looked like everyone was marching up to the Magic Kingdom.”
