Also, what is the normal deposit amount? Because one venue said 50% to secure the date but that seems large..

Overall the when booking the venue you need to decide what it is you want, have your criteria and mark this off as you see the venues until you come to the one you love. Deposit amount it $1000 within 2 weeks of making booking. 50% payment 1 month prior and final payment 3 days prior.
You will know when you view the Venue if it is right for you. The feeling is so important... then, was it recommended or referred.? Was it created with Love and Passion? Does it offer award winning, professional trades? Do they offer full wedding planning if required?Suitable Accommodation? Plan A B and C for weather? Elderly access? Flexible access times for preparations? Does the Owner/Operator care about your details, your budget and your family? Do they offer exclusivity and privacy? Unlimited re visits?
We offer a payment plan to suit your circumstances.
When considering your Special Day, its always important that you yourself are happy with the venue, location, inclusions and the Co-Ordinator helping to make your day as special as possible. Our packages are all inclusive, meaning there won't be any hidden costs once booked. We also cater to what you are after and if we don't have something you are after, we will ensure we source it and have it readily available for you.
Our deposit is 10% of your total amount.
Every response I have read below are spot on :-)
Definitely reviews are your best guide. Our location and scenic views speak for themselves but one thing you cannot ignore is if the food the venue you are looking at has good food reviews. At Narooma Golf Club out caterers are a separate entity to the club and they pride themselves on delivering the best quality of food and service no matter what wedding package is booked. As the wedding and functions coordinator they certainly make my job a lot easier and can cater for any special dietary requirements.
Our deposit request is usually $1,000 but depending on how far ahead the wedding is booked in the future I sometimes will accept $500 up front and we also offer a payment plan with no commitment to pay at any time-so one week you can pay $50 the following month $100-its whenever you wish to pay you can.
Please contact me is you require any further information
Warm regards
