Do venues charges more for New Year's Eve weddings?

Wondering if there are surcharges for weddings on special dates like this. We're thinking of a NYE wedding.

This is entirely dependent upon your venue, at our venue, yes, surcharges apply across all public holidays. While this is the case for all venues, my suggestion would be to budget for this just incase!

Yes, most venues will apple surcharges as the date is classed as a Public Holiday. It can also be difficult securing staff for this date due to people wanting to celebrate themselves and prefer not to work.

In our case, we do not host Chsitmas or NYE weddings as we have a 3 week closure every year over this period.

Not necessarily. Any surcharges are going to be around your numbers on site more so than the "special" date.

Most venues will have a surcharge for a wedding on a public holiday due to the labour penalty rates.  Most vendors who need staff to work on over the public holiday hours will add a surcharge.  The public holiday starts at 7pm on NYE and continues all through New Years Day.  It's definitely a fun date for a wedding but expect to pay more.

Hi,

The Rules changed a few years ago about Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, as they are both now classed as a public holiday from 6.00pm. The increase in wages means that most venues will be charging you more.
