The two reception rooms available for hire are stylish and filled with plenty of natural light. What event spaces are available for a reception?
Two reception spaces are available: the Pearl room and the Ocean room. Both offer natural light, extensive ocean views, a dancefloor, and a sleek design.
“My wedding was held at City Beach, Wollongong in the Pearl Room. The room was a fantastic size, accommodating all my guests with plenty of space left. Their inclusions are outstanding. When I attended expos multiple photographers had said that the food is outstanding EVERY TIME!! The day came, and you better believe they delivered. We’d love the opportunity to present our beautiful venue to you! To do so, we’d encourage you to make an appointment to meet with our Wedding Coordinator who will personally be able to show you through the venue and to discuss our wedding packages with you. You can book an appointment in by contacting us via phone (on 02 4228 3188) or email (at weddings@citybeachfunctions.com.au).
In addition, we frequently host wedding open days where you would have the opportunity to inspect the venue when it is set up for a wedding reception, providing you with a realistic idea of how the rooms would look on your special day.
We recommend you lock in your wedding date as soon as you have decided on when you would like it to take place. Generally we receive bookings anywhere between 6 to 18 months prior or sometimes up to 30 months prior (with the exception of some bookings with only a few months prior), so to avoid any disappointment we encourage you to book sooner rather than later. Please contact us to ask about our availability.
Normally City Beach Events & Weddings will have three (3) meetings with you, to plan and organize your wedding reception.
MEETING #1: Held 3 Months Prior To Your Wedding
The first taking place approximately three months before your wedding. The initial meeting is an opportunity for us to discuss your ideas and vision for the day, we work out an approximate order of the evening, menu & dietary requirements, wedding cake details, decorations (i.e. sash colours, centrepieces, bonbonniere information), room set-up (including providing floor plans), Disc Jockey (a DJ checklist will be provided so you can select your music throughout your reception), seating plan templates, etc, etc. This first meeting usually takes approximately 1 to 1½ hours.
MEETING #2: Held 2-3 Weeks Prior To Your Wedding
The second meeting is generally held two to three weeks prior to your wedding day. In this meeting we will confirm your final numbers, calculate your final payment and also run back through and confirm all of the details that were discussed during the first meeting and answer any additional questions you may have The second meeting usually takes around 1 hour, sometimes up to 1½ hours.
MEETING #3: Held In The Week Of Your Wedding
Your third and final meeting is usually held the week of your wedding, where you will have a chance to meet with our Operations Manager, who will be executing your reception. It also provides you with the opportunity to drop-off with any items that you want set-up for your wedding such as bonbonniere, place cards and decorations.
Numbers for a wedding reception generally need to be confirmed during the second meeting, which is usually held approximately 2 to 3 weeks prior to your wedding reception. Final numbers will need to be finalised 2 weeks prior.
During your first meeting with your wedding coordinator (held approximately 3 months prior) you will receive some floor plans along with seating plan templates, etc, so you can start to work out your seating arrangements for your wedding reception. You are welcome to seat anywhere between 7 to 10 guests on each table.
