Get Expert AdviceHow do venues cater to children and teens?
I have some kids (under 10) and then 8 cousins in their teens. I'm not sure where the wedding is yet (open to anywhere in Aus), but they make up a large portion of my guests so I don't want them to feel bored! Can venues supply mocktails for them so they can feel part of it and party with us? Should I be asking about kids rooms or somewhere where I can set up an xbox or netflix or something for them to do? Should I hire some games?
Perth Town Hall
In my experience this is something you will probably need to arrange yourself. If your venue can supply a spare room, you can set up an activity for the younger set in there. Hiring a hall will give you maximum flexibiltiy as to what you do and where. Mocktails can certainly be arranged by good caterers, and many teens will enjoy the chance to dress up and socialise in a grown-up way. Be aware that some venues are more child-friendly than others--for instance, small children and water features make for nervous parents all night, and some heritage venues will not have been designed with modern standards, so parents will need to be extra vigilant.
