About

We have lived at Clover Cottage since 1983 when we arrived as newlyweds with stars in our eyes to somewhere which offered us as a place to bring to bring up children and grow old together!! It is an ongoing journey which neither of us have tired from. Paul has restored, built, created and farmed with passion and dedication. His stone walls and buildings complement the historic property which was established in 1875. We never tire of the hills, forest and riverside setting and the farm animals!!

We are spoilt for choice of vendors in our area, many who we have a relationship with and highly recommend. Orchard Barn also have a range of hire items exclusively available to you.

What are the bar & alcohol facilities?

Here at Orchard Barn we are not licensed to sell Alcohol. This gives you full choice of the alcohol to be served and you have access to stock the cool room prior to the event and after to remove any remaining alcohol. The bar is managed by our two provided and qualified bar staff .

Where do my guests stay?

Our accommodation can sleep up to 21 people on the property. There are many places for guests to book close by in the Southern Forests area. See our website for our recommendations.

What happens if it rains on the day?

The Orchard Barn is weather proof, arrangements can be made to move your ceremony inside. Or if you would prefer to still be ‘outside’ You can perform the ceremony out of the weather on the Mudbrick Barn verandah or deck. No matter the weather you and your guests will be comfortable.

Absolutely stunning venue that our guests raved about. We were married on the banks of the river, had canapes on the beautiful lawn overlooking the dam in the evening sun and had our sit-down dinner in the handmade barn built with love and made from local recycled materials. Paul and Petrina really went above and beyond to make our wedding amazing, with great recommendations for local suppliers and amazing attention to detail and organisation. We felt incredibly welcome throughout. Highly recommend!

Brooke and Craig - November 18 2023 I couldn’t recommend Clover Cottage and The Orchard Barn enough. What a splendid wedding weekend we had, and all because of the beautiful hospitality of Petrina, Paul and all of the animals on the property! We booked with Clover Cottage two years before our wedding date and the constant updates and contact was next to none. In the couple of months leading up to the wedding, they helped us understand what we would need to bring and do on the day and it was just a breeze. When we arrived the day before, they were so welcoming and we just loved settling in to the property. Waking up on the morning of the wedding to the sun rising over the lake and the bunnies hopping around was so memorable. The help Petrina and Paul provided on the day was amazing as well, and even the guests commented on the service. Our favourite part was of course Edith the Donkey who was our beautiful ring bearer, led by Petrina. Thank you both for your hard work in helping us have our dream wedding! We really couldn’t thank you enough.

The Clover Cottage Country Retreat is an absolutely beautiful venue. We had an outside ceremony in front of a gorgeous tree near the lake and an indoor reception in the mud-brick barn. The area is so well kept and outstanding. Petrina and Paul are lovely people who helped us a great deal throughout the planning process and on the day. They provided hire items service as well. We stayed in the cottages for a few days which was bliss being away from the buzz of city life. 10/10 could not recommend more! Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Absolutely the most beautiful venue we have ever been to! We knew as soon as we headed down the driveway that this is where we wanted to get married.
