St Patrick’s Anglican Church

St Patrick's is a very large venue and can cater for 280 attendees without modifications, or 350 attendees with additional chairs brought into the church for the ceremony.

The layout of St Patrick's means that we can host a small and intimate service of less than 30 people at the very front of the church, and we often conduct the traditional 'said service' for couples & their two witnesses who don't want any fuss.  These simple ceremonies cost $499.

We do not re-marry individuals at St Patrick's.

If you or your fiancée has previously been married but is now divorced and your/their former spouse is still living, then we will be unable to conduct your marriage.

We understand the significance of including your minister/pastor in your big day and will work closely with you to make this happen as much as possible.  However, only an Anglican Priest can marry you at St Patrick's. This means that:

• If you're from a different Anglican Church, then your minister will likely be able to conduct the whole service.
• If you don't know another Anglican Priest, then Father Stephen will conduct the legal marriage component - but your minister/pastor will still be able to have the larger role of welcoming, preaching, speaking, and introducing throughout the service.  If this is the case, please speak with Father Stephen as he can quickly run you through the order of service so that you can make an informed decision.

Yes!  Couples have the option of dry-hiring the other spaces, or organising partial through to complete dressing through Becky.

• Dry-hiring involves having only the space provided "as is".  Of course it will be neat, tidy & beautiful, but it is a blank slate for the couple or their wedding planner/decorator to go to work in.

• Partial dressing involves having the space provided, along with much of the underlying resources & items that are required - such as tables, basic chairs, barrels, umbrellas, glassware and so on.  A full list and pricing will be worked out in consultation with each couple or their planner/decorator.

• Complete dressing involves having the space and everything in it prepared & delivered.  This includes table cloths, tiffany chairs, fabric napkins, cutlery, crockery, glassware and so on.  As above, a brief, full list and pricing will be worked out individually with each couple.

There are a large number of different spaces available onsite:

• The Parish Hall with timber floors and raised curtained stage (110 sqm indoor)
• The Parvis with outdoor chapel, heritage oak tree, lawn and raised stage (170 sqm outdoor seated, 250 sqm outdoor standing)
• The Forecourt with expansive lawn and afternoon shade (1,000 sqm outdoor)
• The Waurena Deck with covered timber decking, fans and beautiful lighting (125 sqm covered)
• The Waurena House with Heritage Listed rooms for photos

Often couples have large numbers of well-wishers at their weddings, who they want to spend time with prior to joining with a smaller group for their reception.  We have a number of spaces for you to hold morning or afternoon teas, cocktail & stand-up celebrations, or larger informal meals.  Becky can provide beautiful charcutarie boards, cheese & fruit platters, along with tea & coffee stations, cold drinks or champagne for toasting - you can even cut the cake with the larger group if you want.

We also has access to a large range of tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery and glassware so we can help make this an easy & generous part of your wedding day.

Yes! 

We have successfully hosted a number of post-wedding celebrations and receptions onsite, with cocktail styled receptions in the Parvis, long-table sit down receptions at Waurena House or in the Church proper, and incredible large-scale events on the front forecourt.  

Most newlyweds leave their guests to enjoy canapes, charcutarie and drinks on the Forecourt or in the Parvis while they have their pictures taken at the river or just down the road in Hyde Park.  

What they return to is completely up to them!  We’ve hosted formal seated dinners for hundreds, stand-up cocktails and dancing, dj’s music late into the night and lights in the sky.  From buffet service through to a full waited table service the style and aesthetic of your reception is completely up to you!  A simple sit-down buffet for a close circle of family, all the way through to an extravagant & luxurious silver service for 300 in a custom marquee!  Whatever you are dreaming of, we will make a reality.

We only book a single wedding per day (and often only a single wedding per weekend) so you will not be rushed by us.

To secure your date we require a non-refundable deposit which can be paid after your first sit-down with Fr Stephen & Becky.  Should there be health or other extenuating circumstances that lead to a cancellation please speak directly to Fr Stephen so that he can deal pastorally with you.  The amount of the deposit is deductible from the final donation amount and is:

·         $199 for the simple ‘said service’

·         $299 for the regular wedding ceremony

·         $499 for the regular wedding ceremony followed by any additional hire or service

Depending on your preference this can be done in cash, against an invoice, by credit/debit card or by EFT.

When you meet with Fr Stephen and/or Becky all your legal information will be collected so that the marriage can be registered.  At this point a draft quote will be provided in writing for you to review, and this will include any additional hire of spaces and/or refreshment & reception services and so on.  Once the final vision for your big day has been planned, a formal final quote will be provided in writing for you to review and approve.

The remainder of the donation must be paid before or on the date of the dress rehearsal, and depending on your preference this can be done in cash, against an invoice, by credit/debit card or by EFT.
