OVERVIEW

Dating back to the 1800's, Ratho Farm stands as one of Tasmania's most loved historic venues. With many picture-perfect spaces, from the giant oak tree to the modern atrium, your free reign is limited only by your creativity

Since we opened the doors to the public in late 2014 we’ve enjoyed having many diverse and well received gatherings of friends and family over a memorable three day getaway.

We say diverse, because the weddings have chosen one of several different ceremony locales at Ratho Farm:
- Under the giant Oak Tree
- Beside the river Clyde
- or On the footsteps of the Convict Cottages.

The weddings to date have had quite a distinct format for the reception:
- From a Garden Cocktail Party in a Marquee 50-150 guests
- A formal sit-down in our Atrium for up to 72 guests

- The old barn for up to 120 guests
- A long table lunch on the homestead verandah up to 30 guests

Ratho Farm really is, where you can let your creative imagination run wild, to present your very own unique celebration!

November 2016

Such a beautiful location and wherever you want the ceremony, they will set it up. It was extremely difficult to chose where to have it! We decided on having it at the front steps of the homestead. The reception was held in the atrium and every angle in there is beautiful. It was great to have everything at one location from waking up in the morning, getting ready, the ceremony, the group photos, the bridal party photos and the reception. We were able to make the most of the day without wasting it on travel.

We booked the whole farm for our families to stay for 3 nights and had our wedding on the second day. It is such a beautiful place and the rooms are exquisite. We had free reign of the the farm and the staff were wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their time and it was a great way to have quality time as a family, celebrating this happy event in our lives.

Wonderful food. They asked us what we wanted and made exactly what we asked for and made it beautifully. There was not a single complaint.

Ratho Farm were so easy to work with, especially organising our wedding from interstate. They were a perfect mix of being highly organised yet super laid back - this allowed for us to make heaps of changes along the way that they easily and effortlessly accommodated. We were told to treat the farm as our own for the weekend and it really did feel like it. A beautiful rustic venue.

Cocktail Style Reception Order of Events

Hi All, We are having a cocktail style reception (no sit down dinner) for our wedding. The ceremony starts at 3pm, reception starting at 4pm for 4 hours (8pm). My question is what would be the order of events for the reception? There is no garter or bouquet toss, I'm giving my bouquet to my grandma. My thought is, 415pm introductions > 430pm toasts and speeches > 5pm bouquet to grandma > 515pm cake cutting > 530pm first dances > 6pm party dancing > 745 send off > 8pm end. Does that seem ok? Or do you suggest something different? Thanks!
