Provenance is the most unique and historic wedding venue in Geelong. We love making life easy for our couples! We have a stunning Barrel Hall for receptions, a variety of onsite ceremony locations, award-winning food and wine, and numerous photography locations close by on the estate. We pride ourselves on delivering personalised service, with great attention to detail.
The heritage-listed Paper Mill where Provenance calls home, is nestled in a cliff with picturesque views over Buckley Falls on the Barwon River. We are the closest winery to Geelong, an easy 10 minutes’ drive from Geelong’s CBD. Conveniently located just off the Geelong bypass and 50-minute day trip from Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road.
Our menu features delicious, locally sourced produce designed to impress your guests and leave them completely satisfied. Our talented kitchen team are well known for the quality of their cuisine, offering a large seasonal menu and catering for all dietary requirements with individual meals. As part of our wedding planning service, we invite couples to enjoy a complimentary lunch in the restaurant to experience the quality and taste of our food.
Packages include cocktail, alternate drop, and a popular share-style menu. Our Head Chef and his dedicated team are passionate about delivering quality and exceptional, fresh, modern-Australia cuisine which has been receiving rave reviews.

We offer a variety of indoor or outdoor ceremony options, including a pretty outdoor alfresco area, rustic industrial winery and several options within our grand Barrel Hall. Provenance is also perfect for winter weddings with a gorgeous fireplace, overhead heating and plenty of award-winning wine to keep guests toasty!
We provide couples with a private Bridal Retreat room, allowing them to take a moment, relax and enjoy a champagne before the reception begins.
In terms of styling, we are fortunate to have such a gorgeous space, full of character and textures with many couples not needing a lot of styling beyond florals. The rustic, whitewashed, bluestone walls and the grandeur of the sweeping, vaulted ceilings is breathtaking. Beautiful natural light floods in from our skylights and numerous windows facing the Barwon River. The polished concrete flooring and warm timber tones of the tabletops and black Bentwood chairs also provide a natural palette to easily create a perfect wedding.
Whether it be crisp, white linen or natural timber tabletops, fairy lights that adorn the origninal crossbars of the ceiling or barrels, full of wine, wrapping two sides of the room, our friendly event team will create a customised floorplan. We hold a detailed planning meeting 6 weeks ahead of the wedding to run over all the fine details for the special day.

Add any of the below options to your food and beverage package:
Our cermeonies start at either 4.00pm or 5.00pm. All evening weddings are based upon a standard duration of 5 hours, starting at 6.00pm and conclude at 11.00pm.
To secure the date of your wedding celebration at Provenance Wines we will complete a simple booking form with you and request a $2000 security bond payment. The details included in your booking form (including guest numbers, food and beverage package etc.) can all be finalised closer to the wedding date giving you the flexibility to make changes to your plans.
We’ll need 40% of the functions anticipated cost around 90 days before the event, and the remaining balance (and final guest numbers) 21 days before the event. (We’ll advise you of the exact payment dates.) Don’t forget to ask about our progress payment plan options.
Should unfortunate circumstances force you to defer or cancel your event, your security bond deposit and subsequent payments will only be refunded under extenuating circumstances. Under all other circumstances the deposit and subsequent payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. If COVID-19 restrictions force you to defer your event, Provenance Wines will endeavour to find you a suitable, alternative date to move your booking to. All payments previously made will be transferred to your new event date.
