Do I provide portaloos if my wedding is outside?

If i go with an outdoor venue, do I have to also hire portaloos?

If you have a look at our drone footage located on our page of a headland ceremony you will see that our club house is only a short walk down towards our beautiful headland so outside toilets will not be required . Will venue's charge extra for having more than one type of ceremony?

We will have two types of marriage ceremony

At Narooma Golf Club we have a set fee for our headland ceremony. If you were to have two types of ceremonies in the 1 booking (for just 1 couple) then the fee would remain the same. We do not have a time limit on our bookings

Are there any things that aren't allowed in most venues?

Like, I know most you can't have confetti.. and some no glitter. But is there anything else I should be wary of?

Narooma Golf Course will not allow confetti or glitter but you can use bio degradable confetti on our magnificent golf course. We also do not allow your own food to be bought onto the premises apart from your beautiful wedding cake :-)

Should I be asking every vendor I inquire with if they are same-sex friendly?

I saw a horror story on reddit about a venue.. so I am now worried.

All venues SHOULD be same sex friendly- I totally agree with Noosa Boathouse. Narooma Golf Club would be more than happy to help you celebrate your special day :-)

Is an on-site venue coordinator usually included in venue packages?

At Narooma Golf Club,you will be dealing with the same friendly wedding co-ordinator from your first meeting up to and including all day to help assist make your special day just perfect

How soon before the wedding are you usually able to go in and check the decor is up to scratch?

I may come across as a bridezilla but I want to check that the venue is perfect before the wedding! Are you usually allowed in prior? I havent booked my venue yet but I'm looking and this is really important to me

At Narooma Golf Club wherever possible our reception room is blanked out the day before a wedding so that everything can be set up the day before. You are welcome to come in anytime after 10.30am the day before for as long and many times as you like. We want everything to be just as special as you do and will work with you to make sure its what you have always dreamed of :-)

How do venues cater to children and teens?

I have some kids (under 10) and then 8 cousins in their teens. I'm not sure where the wedding is yet (open to anywhere in Aus), but they make up a large portion of my guests so I don't want them to feel bored! Can venues supply mocktails for them so they can feel part of it and party with us? Should I be asking about kids rooms or somewhere where I can set up an xbox or netflix or something for them to do? Should I hire some games?

Narooma Golf Club recently catered for a wedding that included 157 adults and 19 children. Our children's menu is $20 per head (up to the age of 12) but if slightly older they can also choose from this menu which includes a choice of 5 main meals eg:chicken tenders, chips & salad, chicken nuggets and chips, Roast dinner with veg, spag bol or fish & chips all followed with ice cream and topping. The children were all seated on 2 separate tables that were close to the toilets and dance floor. The biggest hit on the night was the photo booth. Apart from playing games on their phones/ipads(we have free Wi-Fi) the photo booth with its dress ups kept all the children entertained (as well as the adults)

For younger children its a good idea to include colouring in books as well

What kinds of things should I consider when booking a venue?

Also, what is the normal deposit amount? Because one venue said 50% to secure the date but that seems large..

Every response I have read below are spot on :-)

Definitely reviews are your best guide. Our location and scenic views speak for themselves but one thing you cannot ignore is if the food the venue you are looking at has good food reviews. At Narooma Golf Club out caterers are a separate entity to the club and they pride themselves on delivering the best quality of food and service no matter what wedding package is booked. As the wedding and functions coordinator they certainly make my job a lot easier and can cater for any special dietary requirements.

Our deposit request is usually $1,000 but depending on how far ahead the wedding is booked in the future I sometimes will accept $500 up front and we also offer a payment plan with no commitment to pay at any time-so one week you can pay $50 the following month $100-its whenever you wish to pay you can.

Will venues generally allow you to take pictures before the ceremony?

I want to do a photo shoot before my wedding in our set-up reception venue, is that too much to ask? Or is that a common thing...?

We welcome photos to be taken any time on the day/night - why wouldn't you want to capture every special moment :-)

Narooma Golf Club has the most beautiful scenic view from our reception room called The Bluewater Room"".

As you are looking at getting married in June this is when the whales will be migrating up north. We have trained them to breach for the photos and we don't charge extra for that ;-)

Do we need wedding insurance or is that included in the venue?

We have insurance at our venue

Do I need security at my venue?

Do most venues provide this or do I need to look around? I don't know if I need it, but we have a large group (210) so I wanted to know if that means I need it? Also what is the ratio of security to guests?

Usually security is not required at our venue but if you wish to hire security guards yourself we could let you know contact details of a local company. Our staff are highly reputable in keeping an eye on all of our guests and will monitor any situations if it gets too rowdy.

Two hours gap between the wedding ceremony and the reception.. is this acceptable?

Very acceptable :-) At Narooma Golf Club after the ceremony on our picturesque headland overlooking Montague island, once you have finished having photos taken with family and friends you can then move off to other areas to get further bridal party photos taken and your guests can walk up (or be driven up with golf carts by your friendly wedding coordinator) to our members vernadah and continue to enjoy the beautiful scenery whilst purchasing a drink from our members bar (you can also run a dry till from this bar as well if you wish)

Once the time has come to open the reception room this is then announced over the outdoor PA speakers. If you wish to have pre-dinners/canapés then the reception room can be opened slightly earlier and our caterers will conduct tray service to all your guests whilst they are mingling and enjoying the scenic views from "the Bluewater room "and sipping on their champagne. Once you arrive back to our venue after your photos you can also have your pre-dinners/canapés in a separate room and freshen up before you are announce into your reception.

I'm considering a midweek or friday/sunday wedding... Should I?

Please help! Is it worth the savings to have a day other than saturday?

There is a surcharge on weddings held at our venue on a Sunday but recently we have had a couple of Friday weddings so everyone can enjoy the entire weekend after the ceremony :-)
