Venue for our informal and small wedding?

We are looking for a nice restaurant or cocktail venue to celebrate our wedding. I am looking for the best value and great location for approx 40 people at the most.

Hawkesbury Function Centre is able to comadate your needs for a number of  40 guest.

The venue has a lovely country feel on the out side , inside there are fairly lights material draping from the ceiling .

Hawkesbury Function Centre is able to give you a cocktail menu or a seat down meal. 

why do some venues not allow pets?

Most venues will not allow pets, because  some people having a allergic reaction because of the fur. Pets having to go to the toilet on the grounds which most venues don't like.

Is a rehearsal dinner necessary?

I have a very small wedding about 26 guests. Only one is local the rest are from out of town. About half of them are relatives or involved in the ceremony. Is it necessary to host a rehearsal dinner? My family's paying for the entire wedding I'm covering most of the honeymoon and the groom's parents have both passed. I feel as though paying for dinner the night before the wedding will cost close to the actual wedding meal. I'm considering covering some appetizers at the hotel lounge for all overnight guests but I'm wondering if that will seam cheap and/or a dinner is required?

A dinner rehearsal is not at all necessary, your wedding event coordinator should be able to explain to how things will go to plan.

If you strongly feel you need a dinner rehearsal please keep in mind this will be another experience you don't need, unless if in same way your event coordinator can do something small for you.

Do I need a seating plan?

My reception is a Sunday brunch with about 25-30 guests split between 5 tables (which includes the head table). I will assign seats with place cards but is a seating plan necessary for such a small group?

A seating plan  is not really  necessary for a wedding of that size, but we can supply you with a seating plan if you like this way you are  able to have your guest seated where you like you can see how the room looks set out. 

Do we need wedding insurance or is that included in the venue?

Hawkesbury Function Centre already has insurance which is Public Liability, But you should not have to take out your own insurance and it's a good idea to read venues Terms & Conditons.

Two hours gap between the wedding ceremony and the reception.. is this acceptable?

Yes this is very normal for lots of ceremonies, this gives you time for photos with family and friends and time for your guest to have canapés and drinks before reception. 

Do we need to have an Engagement Party??

We have been engaged for over a year now and everyone that we would invite to the engagement party already know we are engaged, so is there any point in holding one??

This question is a personal between you and your partner, but what you can do if you like say to your guest you are having a Engagement party , when they at the venue it  actually a  surprise wedding.

Where can we land a helicopter to arrive at our ceremony?

Just make sure your venue does have the space for a helicopter to land, Like Hawkesbury Function Centre is suitable as this venue is on 3 Acres. 

How bad are Sunday night weddings?

I'm planning a Sunday night wedding, but am concerned about guests who may need to work the next day. How are Sunday night weddings usually run? Unfortunately a brunch/lunch wedding doesn't really work for our venue.

If you can try changing your wedding day to a week day or Saturday, on a Sunday you will get surcharge this is due to paying staff .

How do I choose the right sized venue for 100 guests?

Do you have any tips on how to choose the right sized venue for this number of guests?

Make sure the venue can hold up 100 guest or more with out the dance floor being to close to your guest tables.

How far in advance should I book my wedding venue?

I don't want to miss out on my dream venue. So, how far in advance should I make the booking?

You should book your venue anywhere between 6 to 12 months, this will give you time to organise all those little extra you need for your special Wedding day.
