I've noticed a lot of wedding businesses don't accept card, just deposits. Why is this?

There are added costs involved for an operator, as I try to give Couples the most cost effective service possible this is an unnecessary cost that will not be passed on to clients.

It depends on what payment gateway someone uses - banks usually have additional fees on top of the standard surcharge. I use an online merchant that makes it simpler.

Possibly because of high bank fees which would have to be passed on to the customers. This may not be a feasible option for small businesses.

Card suppliers charge businesses a percentage for the privilege of accepting a credit card payment which in turn businesses will pass that charge onto the customer therefore making the product more expensive for the customer, by depositing straight into the business account there is no extra charge to the business nor customer.
