Yes - in Australia, you’ll need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form at least one month before your wedding date. This form must be lodged with your authorised celebrant, and it’s valid for up to 18 months. Both partners must be over 18, provide proof of identity (like a passport or birth certificate), and show evidence of the end of any previous marriage if applicable.
Your celebrant will guide you through all the paperwork - they’re legally responsible for submitting your documents and registering your marriage. As planners, we simply make sure everything is timed and coordinated so there are no last-minute surprises!
