Aside from price of course. What should we be asking photographers to help us narrow down our selection?

Asking a potential photographer that you're scouting for a full wedding gallery (preferably from the venue you booked) before agreeing to consult with them! You don’t just want to see their best and most instagrammable shots on websites and social media, and also you don’t want to waste anyone’s time. This is where you will be able to really see the difference between photographers.
Would you want to book a photographer who delivers 10% swoon-worthy photos and 90% garbage? Or would you rather book a photographer who delivers a completely consistent, cohesive gallery for the entire wedding day? The only way to tell how good your photographer really is is by looking at full wedding galleries. So before you sign any contract, be sure to ask them for a few to browse!
As you’re viewing full wedding galleries, here are some questions to keep in mind:
• How many photos am I receiving in total?
• Does the entire gallery look consistent + cohesive from start to finish?
• How does the photographer tell the story of the day? What are their strengths? Styled details? Bride + groom portraits? Candid moments? Does their storytelling style match what you want from your wedding photos?
• Do you like the overall editing style? Are the greens really green or are they seafoam/grey/blue in color? Are the skin tones realistic or are they too orange/red/pink or muddy? Are the images completely washed out? Are they too saturated?
• Will you like this editing style in the future or will you regret it down the road because it’s a fad right now? It’s okay to be critical! Your images should be something you’ll love forever.
• How does the photographer approach the formal posed portraits, including the bridal party + family formals? How many images do they deliver?
• Are the images sharp + in focus or are they mostly soft focused? Does this matter to you?
• How does the photographer light and photograph the reception? Do they seem to know how to navigate multiple lighting situations – not just natural light?
1. Do you have this date available (The first thing to ask)
2. What do your packages include?
3. What is your editing style?
4. WHEN will we recieve our images?
Hi, I would ask them what style they like to shoot, if it's posed and contrived or natural and photojournalistic .
if they shoot some film or not. Whether you get all the images high res and black and white in the package.

What happens if you cant come on the day due to an emergency?
How long have you been doing this professionally?
If we decide to change the date what fees are involved if any?
Can we upgrade our package to include more hours on the day?
Will you help us feel comfortable in front of the camera? coz we dont do photos normally... (thats what most of my couples say)
How many photos roughly will we get frmo our package?
Can you do extra editing later and will that be an extra cost?
Can you work well with children and animals? (if they will be there on the day of course)
Ask anything you want!
I worked along with many photographers, and nothing is more "lame" than a shy photographer who has no voice / managment skills during a shoot. I often had to step up and take charge even tho it wasn't my job!
Most importantly - ask for their advice & opions on everything wedding related!
Most of us have worked more then a handful of weddings, therefore we generally have a list of amazing vendors that can also be of great help to plan your dream wedding day!

Hi there! For me it would be:
1. How many hours do you cover? (don't want them to miss out on some special moments)
2. Do you offer engagement shoots? (doing an engagement shoot is a great way to feel more comfortable with your photographer before your wedding day)
3. Awesome, we like you! How do we lock in the date? (find out how much deposit they require)
4. What happens if our wedding is postponed or cancelled? (find out whether they're flexible with their payment plans)
Hi and congratulations,
1. Perhaps checking if the photographer is flexible with the type of style they photograph, to best suit the couple?
2. Turn around time for post production editing?
3. What is the photographers background experience? Reason for photographing Weddings? You want to secure a passionate photographer who loves there job!! :D
I hope this helped,
Kind regards

Hello
What I think potential clients should ask their wedding photographer is:
- How do you describe your style?
- Do you offer videography?
- Do you have a payment plan?
- Waht is included in your packages?
- What is the turnaround time to receive our photos?
- What is the turnaround time to receive our product?
- Do we meet before the big day?

I would recommend, asking how long have they been in Business? Do they have a facebook page or instgram where you can check out all weddings not just their best work on their website. Do you have the date available? When do you receive the images? Check that they adapt their style to many couples to all shapes and sizes. this shows diversity in ages, and also they are flexible to adapt their style to every couple and their needs.
