About

Photography fills me with similar feelings to that of exploring. Looking for the way the light falls, chasing shadows, and sitting back and watching the beauty of the world. I love that no two shoots are ever the same and every wedding I have the privilege of shooting is an adventure to remember. In another lifetime I was a paramedic. These days I live in an old 1950's cottage on the Mornington Peninsula with my beautiful wife. I love to surf, explore, listen to music, learn, live and love.

FAQ

I'm Brendan! Before I was a photographer I was a an Emergency and Intensive Care Nurse and also spent some time as a Paramedic on the Gold Coast! I still keep my nursing registration, however I 10000000000% prefer capturing beautiful moments at peoples happiest times rather than being there for the worst!

I love surfing, am training for a marathon and I own a beautiful Maremma Sheepdog named Bruno. You can check him out more on my website!

One of the hardest questions for a photographer to answer is to explain their style. We can all give you an indication of the way we shoot, or what we enjoy but to be honest phtography styles are foregever evolving both personally and industry wide.

I would say I shoot with as much natural light as possible, enjoy the 'candid' or 'unposed' approach as I really enjoy setting the scene to catch those truly natural moments.

My images are mostly fun and vibrant however I'm also really drawn to experimenting with low light and a more moody approach. Some people love it, some people hate it, I find it really exciting but just know your inbox won't be full of them!

Overall my style matches that of the energy of my couples. If you are really out-going and loud your images will reflect that. If you're emotive and have a really intimate connection I'll capture that.

It comes down to great communication between myself and you guys on the day to get the images that best reflect you as a couple.

Gear chat! Could chew your ears off for hours, although not as much as your uncle who brought his 2006 DSLR to the wedding will ;)

The most important answer to this question is that it's all professional grade gear. High quality lenses, professional camera bodies etc. I currently shoot with Canon but I'm aso not a crazy brand loyalist so may change in the future!

If you're interested and want to know specifics lets chat about it!

Quick answer 350 - 1000.....

It depends on your day, how long we're shooting for, locations, weather, details etc. I'll shoot everything I can that has some significance to your days. My main focus is people, especially yourselves, but also the emotions of your nearest and dearest on the day.

Sorry, a CD? Not sure what that is?

The physical age is dying, my new computer doesn't even have a USB drive! I love the portability and most importantly the sharaebility of online galleries.

You will have a personalised online gallery containing a highlights folder and all the photos that you can send to your parents or long lost 3rd cousin who lives in the Canadian tundra. From there you can download full high resolution photos ready for printing or sharing.

You can also download these as a lower resolution file for sharing on social media!

It's a pretty organic process. I remember being daunted by the whole thing when organising my own wedding but trust your vendors, they've done it countless times before.

Once we've touched base I'll try and organise a time to chat on the phone or meet in person to make sure we're a good fit. As I said above, ensuring we have great communication will make the day run nice and smoothly. After that everything is done online. I have a booking system that I will send you a link to. There you can choose your package, sign contracts and fill in some information.

We'll continue to be in touch, espeically in the weeks before your wedding to ensure we have everything locked down!

Wow! What can we say about Brendan. He is the most genuine, friendly and passionate photographer. He helped make our day so calm and fun and captured our moments exactly how we envisioned, candid and in the moment! Communication was great the whole way through, we knew we were in great hands! The vibes and professionalism Brendan brought on the day was second to none. I honestly cannot stop looking at our photos!

Despite the searing hot temperatures on the day brendan was all class, an absolute legend, adapting to the ever changing flow of the night to accomodate the difficult conditions. The next day he had already put together a blog and a handful of gorgeous photos for us to enjoy and share. He managed to get some absolutely stunning photos of just the two of us on the beach for sunset as well as some awesome shots of our guests and family living it large! From the moment we had our first meeting we knew he was the right photographer for us, keen to actually get to know us, our likes and interests we know that this is why he managed to capture our wedding day in a way that truly captured our essence as a couple. From start to finish he was just the best.

Brendan's photos were amazing and a wonderful keepsake of our wedding. We were so happy we chose Brendan to capture the memories of our special day. His relaxed and good-humoured nature made for a lovely wedding day for us and we will have the photos to treasure into the future. All of our guests commented on how great Brendan was and what an excellent job he did with the photography. It's so nice to see so many smiling, happy faces in all of our photos. Everyone had a wonderful time and it will be so nice to look back on these for years to come.
