OVERVIEW
At Anchor + Hope Photography we genuinely believe in providing our clients with the absolute best experience possible!
That experience begins with our initial interaction, and continues along every step of your wedding journey.
Booking Anchor + Hope is not simply a set and forget proposition. We regularly check in to make sure your plans are on track and running smoothly. When requsted, we're more than happy to offer advice, help with logistics or share our 12+ years of wedding industry experience. For while taking charge of the photographic aspects of your big day is our primary responsibility, our primary goal remains ensuring that your entire wedding experience is as smooth, stress free and enjoyable as can be. Why are we so invested you might ask? Well, experience has shown us that remaining interested and involved in our clients' plans makes for working relationships built on trust. And it's this trust that is the number one difference between having happy, relaxed couples or uncomfortably anxious couples in front of the camera.
About
Hi, I'm Cam, owner and principal photographer of Anchor + Hope Photography. 2025 is my 15th year shooting weddings , but despite this it feels like only yesterday that I was nervously packing my gear and heading off to the Yarra Valley to shoot my first wedding! Since then I've had the honour of documenting close to 500 weddings, each one as unique as the couple at the very centre of the celebration. I'd love to hear about your plans and suggest how I might bring your vision to life.

FAQ
I shot my first wedding in 2009, and became a full time wedding photographer in 2012. In that time I've shot almost 500 weddings all across Australia (haven't shot a wedding in South Australia yet but hoping 2026 might be the year!)
This is a great question. My style of photography is probably what you've seen described variously as candid, journalistic or photo documentary. What that actually means is that for me I'm primarily concerned with the story of your day ; the tiny moments, the little interactions, the things happening on the periphery of the celebration, not just at the centre. The vast majority of my clients come to me because they want their wedding photography to be about their family and friends as much as them. If you're looking for a photographer that's mainly concerned with posing and portraits, then I might not be the right fit for you! For while I love portraits, I still approach that part of the day in a very loose and relaxed manner - I'm trying to capture you as you are, not trying to land you on the cover of Vogue!
Occasionally I'll have a second shooter when either guest numbers or logistics necessitate it, but in most cases it is just me. I firmly believe, and have done so throughout my career, that the more people you have running around with cameras, the more self conscious the guests become. My style of work very much relies on remaining as inconspicuous as possible. I don't want your guests to feel under surveillance! I want to capture them letting their hair down, being animated, bent over in laughter, or crying with joy. None of this happens when they're aware that someone is pointing a camera in their direction. The greatest feedback I can receive after the wedding day is complete is that my clients or guests barely knew I was there.
Within 24 hrs of your wedding day finishing you'll receive a link to your Sneak Peaks Gallery - this is a password protected online gallery that will have somewhere in the vicinity of 50 shots from throughout the day. We recognize that we live in a world where instant gratification is largely expected and so being able to feed that immediate appetite is very important. From there we try and have your complete gallery available within 3 to 4 weeks. At peak times this may drift out to 6 weeks at the absolute longest. All our editing is done inhouse by actual humans, as opposed to the AI engines that a majority of photographers rely on these days. When you receive the link to your completed gallery you'll find an attached storefront through which you and your guests can order any prints, enlargements or albums that you desire.
