Hey, I’m Brooke! I’m a Sydney based photographer, a storyteller, a writer, a book-lover, a wife, and a mother of one little bear cub. I love the story images can tell, and for me, that means capturing the authentic real life moments that matter, no fuss, just real and true joyful connection. I’ve been photographing love stories for a decade and it still makes my heart pitter patter. I wear my heart on my sleeve, I love romanticising everyday life, and my head is always buried in a book.

How do you capture weddings?

My whole business is framed like this - wedding's are meant to be felt. You are getting married not for the show, the production, the editorial cover shoot. You're getting married because you've found your person, and you want to celebrate that fact surrounded by the people you love the most. And that is the simple, truest fact. Nothing else matters. I capture weddings with this at the core of my work - moments shared, connections felt, heart-led imagery that focuses on documentary candid memories, not the posed ones.

I'm a ninja, jumping around capturing all the little moments you don't even know are happening. I'm your cheerleader, your guide, helping you to have fun, stay in the moment and relax. I won't make you do weird poses, or embark on an hours long photo shoot. Because the photos to me that mean the most are the ones that are authentic, happen in real time, and cannot be produced.

You have the best day of your life, be in the moment, and I can promise you, you'll have a gallery full of images that pull on the heartstrings.

We could not recomend brooke any higher. She was incredible to work with and we ended up with the most amazing photos of our special day. Super easy going and a true ninja, and just making everyone feel so comfortable. She travelled down to the southern highlands to capture our wedding, and made everything so easy and fun. I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Hello Heartstrings. Prior to our wedding, Brooke checked in with me regularly and helped me plan everything from a photography perspective. On the day itself she arrived at my house early and slotted so easily into the wedding prep chaos! She took wonderful pictures of my sisters and I getting ready and the most special pictures of my two children who were 2 and 6 months. At the wedding venue she very efficiently gathered all the various groups of friends and family for photos. Brooke has had lots of experience shooting in our wedding location (Balmoral Beach) and took us to some specific locations that she knew would lead to the most amazing photos. Later that night (and after shooting our wedding all day!), Brooke sent us a selection of amazing shots so we could share them with our friends and family. She then sent our gallery a few weeks later. Our pictures are everything that I hoped they would be. Brooke captured our magical and dreamy day perfectly.

From the moment we contacted Brooke to enquire about her availability for our wedding, we knew we were in great hands. On the day Brooke arrived with her camera in hand, the biggest smile on her face and an aura of fun vibes. Her professionalism was top notch - she scoped out the best lighting, wrangled our wild bridal party and family with ease and did not even blink when the rain came out of nowhere for a last minute wedding day surprise! But what really set Brooke apart was how comfortable she made us feel. Neither my husband nor I are naturals in-front of the camera but Brooke turned every moment in to a laugh, a hug or a spontaneous dance move. We literally just felt like we were hanging out with an old time friend who just happened to be a photography wizard. Her communication was flawless - from the first email to the final gallery delivery, Brooke kept us informed, excited and totally stress free. She even sent us sneak peaks before we got to having a slice of the leftover wedding cake!
