A third ring above my engagement and wedding ring?
Do many people get a third ring to sit above their engagement and wedding rings? My sister has this and I love it, is it a common thing to do? Hers matches her wedding band so they look really nice together.

Most people tend to get the third ring as an eternity ring, they get it after the wedding, generally on an anniversary, however, sometimes some couples like to get the eternity ring earlier. This is a question that is more for the wearer of the rings, than for others, after all, what do you like the look of the most?

Absolutely a third ring is quite common , for two reasons ... Firstly ,alot of ladies are doing the split band look to make their engagement ring look more enhanced with another band on each side of engagement ring , giving it a balanced appearance. Secondly , the third band ring is used as a eternity ring for first year anniversary or first child. It really is up to you to which way you like to go ...On the wedding day only one wedding ring is used and your engagement ring is worn on opposite hand and then placed on the wedding ring finger once you are married.

Yes the eternity ring or 'push ring' as it is often known is very common. Traditionally it is given at either the first wedding anniversary or first child. The most popular option we see is to mirror the design of the wedding ring as this creates the perfect symmetry either side of your engagement ring. However there has been a definite rise in popularity of the eternity ring being both a different design and sometimes even worn on the right hand instead.
