Expert Advice

As a wedding professional, Argyle Jewellers offers expert advice to help couples plan their perfect day. Ask a question or read their expert advice.

Where should you put your engagement ring during the ceremony?

The obvious answer is somewhere safe! However, Brides often don't want to part with their Engagement Ring particularly if they're in unfamiliar surroundings. In the past, Brides have opted to leave their Engagement Ring at home safe and sound and waiting to be united with the Wedding Band but an increasing number of Brides are opting to wear their Engagement Ring on their right hand and then once the ceremony is complete popping it onto their left hand.

Often photographers want to complete photos with the two Wedding Bands but rarely include the Engagement Ring in these photos although there is the option to have final photos taken with Engagement Ring and both Wedding Bands.

How important is a wedding ring?

Hello, historically we've been symbolising our committment to love our partner for over 3000 years and as jewellery designers and manufacturers, we think Wedding Rings are one of the most important pieces of jewellery you can own. In fact, we're finding alot of our clients that are "second time arounders" are doing without the traditional Engagement Ring and Wedding Ring and just opting for a Wedding Ring that is the significant symbol of their endless love.

Can wedding rings be different

Absolutely, there is no right or wrong when it comes to wedding rings - they are a constant display of your committment. A number of our clients like to design matching rings of different widths, others like to incoroproate the same metal in each others wedding rings and we have other clients who do something completely different. Remember your wedding ring should reflect your personal style as well as representing the endless love you have with your partner. Whether the rings are matching or not, they will symbolise the committment you have made and your everlasting love.

Best wishes
