You need to include your RSVP details, either in a seperate card or include this in the initital printing of the main invitation. Details of venue, time and date of course, dress code and perhaps Gift Suggestion Poem, again either written inside invitation or on a seperate card.  You can also include parents names on top if you wish or just make the invitation more general by saying: "Together with their families name bride and name groom have the pleasure in inviting you........" I hope this has been of help. Marie, BW Reporter.

Hey there!

This information is a good place to start:

- Who is invited (Make +1's as clear as possible)

- Wedding date

- What time your guests have to show up

- The address of the ceremony & reception venues

- Time of reception if it's not directly after the ceremony

- When & how to RSVP (It's better to put this on a separate card if you are including other cards)

Other helpful details you can add are:

- Your parents' names if they are hosting

- Dress code

- Parking / transport details (better on a separate card)

- Accommodation details for interstate or international guests (better on a separate card)

- Wedding web site (better on a separate card)

To see how invitations are worded, you can have a look at the guide on my blog under "Tools and Resources."

Hope this helps!

At a minimum your wedding invitation should include the usual who, what, when, where that we used to learn at school! The who is who is who is invited, it's important to make it clear for details such as plus ones or children depending on what sort of wedding you're planning. What is obviously your wedding and your names, when you have your date and time as well as when you want your RSVPs back by, and the where is your location for your ceremony and/or reception if it's different. A lot of couples also choose to include the names of their parents in their invitations, but this comes down to personal preference. Additional optionals you might then also want to include are details such as dress code, location details with transport, accommodation, or even a wedding website if you have this. This is where different cards within the invitation come in handy - so while your invitation will give all the key details relevant to the wedding, additional cards such as an RSVP card with dietary requirements or menu choice can help get all of those extra details together.
