Depending on your theme and style! If you are planning something special, you may need to give your guests a heads up to make sure they are dressed appropriately for the occasion, destination, weather and theme!

Hi there,

You can include whatever you like on your invite. Generally a dress code is not required as people know that a wedding is a formal occasion requiring neat semicasual clothing at the very minimum. If, however, you have a special dress code (such as, "everyone wears pink"), it might be wise to include that on the invitation.

Putting a dresscode on the invitation is certainly not necessary but it's definitely helpful!

I've heard of guests rocking up in t-shirts and jeans to a wedding when they didn't know what was expected of them.

If you're worried about the dress code cluttering up your invitation, consider putting it on another card such as a details card.

Many couples are opting for Facebook groups or wedding websites where you can include more information online.

I hope this helps :)

We have found dress codes really helpful as that everyone is on the same page.

However, putting the dress code on the invite may clutter the invite itself.

Some people either put it on the Details (Seperate) Card, not on the invite itself, or have another way to inform the guest (Some had a website with a blog people can join)

Hope this helps

Hello :)

In my opinion, including a general dress code is certainly very useful. At the same time, you offer guidance to the guests. I would include one, unless you really do not mind what they wear on the day....If a dress code is not included, the truth is... you may have some surprises....:) Hope this helps,

Mariana
