How should I word a wedding invitation asking guests to pay for their own meal?
I’m paying for everything else. That would be their gift to me.
we totally understand and there are a few ideas out there!
Gifts are simply not a-fair
as for our wedding day -
we ask instead you post a-fare...
A $X per guest contribution, enclosed with RSVP, will get us underway!
The home renos are done,
we have all the essentials,
there is no need for more wedding gifts.
However, a kind contribution of $X to your dinner for the night would help us greatly.

I know this gets asked all the time but can someone please advise me of the timing for invites?Katherine F
I've seen many articles advising to send out invitations 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding. This doesn't seem enough time for me as I'm wanting to organise place cards, printed seating chart etc not to mention I'm sure I'll be chasing people up for RSVPs! My wedding is early November so I'd love some thoughts/advice. Thanks!
we totally understand your dilemma. We are here to help! We always advice our guests to send their invites out 3 months in advance to the wedding date so that there is a lot of time for guests to RSVP. We would usually advice the bride to inform the guest to reply with their rsvp and dietary requirements a month from when they receive their invites.
If your wedding is in November, you'd want to get your invites out to your guests by late July or early August. The RSVP on the invitation would be by end August or early September.
This will give you plenty of time to arrange for place cards, seating charts and menus. Here at Peep Designs, we usually get the designs done prior and approved by you, so that when you finally get their guest names, we just simply key it in with no fuss.

Can anyone suggest any vendors for gold foiling on invitations?Rachael D
I would like to have gold foiling for invites but am aware these come at an extra expense (and often quite significant). I would rule out letterpress foiling but am looking for a company that offers hot foil printing that isn't going to break the bank!
Hey there! We would love to help you out for gold foiling :)
We offer screen printing services which also include gold foiling.
We have a range of different foils – gold / matte gold / rose gold / matte rose gold / silver / black!
For a more budget friendly option, we've also got gold metallic ink for screen print :)
Get in contact & we would love to work within your budget.

If you're talking about information wise, a wedding invitation structure typically includes:
If you're talking about the whole invitation suite, you'd typically include:
But of course, it's up to you completely what you would like to add.

Letterpress printing is a technique of relief printing using a printing press. It is a process where copies are produced by repeated direct impression of an inked, raised surface against sheets of paper. There are movable blocks with different type fonts that are assembled together, creating the artwork on the press/bed. Ink is applied and a paper is pressed over the top of the mold, creating the print.
We would say, you know your guest best!
Should there be guests that have to travel internationally or through states, it is always best to keep your guests well informed in advance so that the necessary bookings can be made to get to your special day with ease.
A good phone call over the phone to notify them as soon as you have your venue booked is well encouraged so that they can book their travel flights. Then you'll only need to send formal invites out to your international guests 4-5months in advance to create excitement and buzz!
Should all of your guests be local, a good timing to send out your formal wedding invitations would be 3 months prior to the wedding date. These guests should be well notified in advance still through your save the dates.
We hope this helped! Peep Designs is always HAPPY to share more! :)
