No, I don’t think fireworks are too over the top at all. Weddings are about you as a couple, and whatever is meaningful to you should absolutely be part of the day, within the constraints of budget, venue rules, and logistics of course.
If fireworks are an important expression of your relationship, then I’d say go for it.
That said, I would recommend looking into cold spark machines They’re much easier to obtain approval for, are venue-friendly, and still create a really impressive “wow” moment without the complexities of traditional fireworks.
