In the years leading up to starting Luscious Me in 2019, Apinya completed a diploma in Patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School in Bangkok, Thailand. She has since produced more than 100 unique and spectacular wedding cakes and has won various awards, including:

After working at Delaney's Cakes Wollongong for several years, last year I moved to Newcastle to establish my own business Luscious Me. I have always had an interest in the artistic side of food presentation, having completed a diploma in Patisserie, a piped buttercream floral decoration course in Korea and a fruit carving course in Thailand. I very much look forward to working with you to create your dream wedding cake.

Yes I am able to avoid most common allergens in my cakes and desserts however my kitchen is not guaranteed nut-free. I am happy to discuss with you any particular requirements.

I always recommend that couples request that their cake provider to deliver the cake and set it up on location. There are so many things to consider on the wedding day the last thing you need is extra worry if the cake will be in perfect condition. The delivery fee is usually also only a small fraction of the total cost of the cake, so it is worth it for peace of mind. The experienced supplier knows how to package and transport the cake carefully to minimise the risk of any damage. When I do deliveries I always take all the necessary tools and supplies with me so if any touch-ups are necessary at the venue this is easily done.
On the other hand, if a customer really does want to pick up their cake themselves or have someone else pick it up, I urge them to drive very carefully and I can provide advice on how to touch up should this be necessary.
Recommendations to maximise your cake budget?

Several factors influence the price of a wedding cake. Some ingredients are more expensive than others but also the amount of time needed to prepare a wedding cake is quite variable depending on the type. The choice of decorations and level of detail of these are also signifcant factors.
I'm happy to work with couples to create the ideal cake for them bearing in mind their priorities and budget. There are usually various options available that do not involve compromising on quality.
How far in advance should I order my cake?

Generally I would recommend six to 12 months in advance so you can have your special day booked into your cake provider's diary before someone else does! That also gives you peace of mind so you can move on to all the other things that have to be organised for the perfect wedding day. If you advise them up front then the cake provider should be able to incorporate at least colour scheme and perhaps finer style elements into the cake design later once you have decided on other aspects of the day like dresses, flowers and the decor of the wedding venue.
Having said that you can always approach a provider at any time as you might find they are able to fit you in.
