How far in advance do we need to book a wedding cake?

What's the usual lead time on a wedding cake including tastings please?

As we are living with ever-changing circumstances due to Covid and lockdowns, it would be best to book as early as possible. Any orders that are affected by lockdowns and postponements are continuously being reshuffled to alternative dates.  If we are locked down again on your wedding date, we will work with you to reschedule your order to an alternative date.

Our tastings are held by appointment only, and these are always worked around a time that is suitable to both the bridal couple and our availability. 

Is it possible to have a cake, cookies and donuts or is that too OTT?

Having all these desserts is definitely not OTT, it's your day and as all the other suppliers before me have said it can suit many purposes and if nicely proportioned it can look absolutely amazing!

cost for a simple wedding cake?

looking to find the cost of a 3 layered, round, red velvet wedding cake glazed in white icing and decorated all over with edible white roses?

Final pricing for special occasion cakes depends on a few factors such as number of serves required, overall design and amount of work involved in the decorating process. As indicated that your preference is for sugar flowers these do take time to make by hand, which does increase your price against using fresh flowers. We love using both sugar flowers or fresh flowers, so the choice is entirely up to you.

We also include a couple of complimentary services for all our bridal couples, which we would be happy to discuss in more detail when you're ready. 

are 5 tiered cakes all cake? or are they fake?

As a supplier of cakes, we like to work with our customers preferences and requirements. This could mean that they require all 5 tiers as cake to serve their guests or it can be all 'fake' as they don't want cake due to they already have other desserts provided but they loved the design and still want it as their 'cake for cutting/photos' and sometimes it can be a mix of both "foam dummy" tiers and real cake. Hope this makes sense :)

Do I cut the top tier or bottom tier of my wedding cake?

Hi, I have two questions in one. First of all, when cutting the cake, are we supposed to cut the top tier or the bottom tier? Secondly, which leg should the garter go on?

Generally it is the bottom tier which is cut, as the top tier is usually kept to celebrate the first anniversary. Once the icing seal has been cut /broken air can get in and dry the cake out immensely even if it is frozen.
