Sakura Studio Spray Tans

I recommend tanning 2 days before your wedding, to give your tan plenty of time to develop and settle in beautifully. 

Before your wedding is always a busy time - if you can't tan 2 days ahead, then tanning 3 days before is totally fine too! 

Please book your trial for at least 2 weeks before your wedding tan.

This is to ensure the trial tan can be properly removed in time for your wedding - so we have a clean, even base to work with for the big day. 

Many brides choose to line up their trial tan with their makeup/hair trial and/or Hen's party.
In this case, book your trial 2 days before the makeup/hair or Hen's party if you can. 

If you have never tanned before, it is best to book an initial trial a few months before the wedding - if you do want to adjust this and go lighter or darker, you can book a second trial to make sure you are happy with the adjustment. 

EXTRA TIPS:

• It's a good idea to wait until you do have your dress, or at least something the same colour to try on. 
• Try the dress on once the tan is developed to see what it will look like against white (or whatever colour your dress is!)
• Have a look at the colour in different lighting - indoor, outdoor, day time, night time 
• See what it looks like in photos with/without flash. 

For your hands - this is up to you! 
A spray tan won't stain polish/gel/acryillic on top of your natural nail. 

For your feet - if you're having a pedicure, please have this done before the tan, otherwise the foot soak and/or scrub will remove tan from your feet and lower legs.

If you're not having your nails done, note that a spray tan CAN stain the natural nail if not wiped off - but I will always ensure this is done ;) 

A spray tan is a 50/50 effort!
I will apply your tan with expert skill and ensure even coverage... but how you prep your skin beforehand is very important - it will impact how your tan looks once developed!

To make sure your skin is prepared for your tan: 

• Firstly, remove any old/built up tan if applicable. 
  2 days before your appointment: Use a gentle tan remover foam or scrub, and an exfoliating mit (available in the studio for purchase) 

• If you don't have any old/built up tan on, skip straight to exfoliating:
  2 days before: let your skin warm up a little in the bath/shower, then use a body wash, mousse, or scrub with and an exfoliating mit - exfoliate dead skin off in gentle circle motions - don't scrub too hard and irritate the skin. Moisturise throroughly afterwards. 

• Remove unwanted body hair:
  Wax, shave, or whatever method you use - 1-2 days before. Moisturise throroughly afterwards.
  Make sure you have exfoliated first. Do not wax/shave on the day of your appointment or you risk leaving the hair follicle open which can leave dots on the skin after a tan has settled in them. *you don't have to remove body hair if you don't want to - this is just what to do if you like to be hair-free.*
  
  
• Moisturise and hydrate:
  For as long as you can: even before you start exfoliating, shaving etc, try to moisturise as much as possible in the lead-up to your tan. Personally, I try to moisturise every day for a week, before tanning for a big event!
  It's best to use a moisturiser that doesn't have too much perfume added - body butters and products with Hyaluronic Acid are great!
  But... stop moisturising on the day of your appointment! 

• Before you come to your appointment: remove deodorant, makeup, moisturiser, sunscreen,  perfume or ANYTHING that is applied to the skin - your skin should be comepletely free of all products. It is best not to shower immediately before your appointment as the hot water can dry out the skin, however, this is sometimes unavoidable. 
• Make sure you have loose, dark clothing and slip-on shoes to bring to your appointment!
