I had my Hens' High Tea at the Fairmont Resort at Leura (Misty's). We had a belly dancer come spend an hour with us to teach us some steps. The high tea was absolutely gorgeous with clotted cream and a decadent chocolate fountain. The staff all knew about the event and went out of their way to make the day really special for us.

We organised the wedding cake through emails and phone calls. We were on our way to deliver the decorations 3 days before the wedding and had an accident on the way. Ann very kindly came and met us at the accident scene late in the evening pouring rain and collected the decorations. The cake was decorated exactly the way I wanted and Ann added her own touches and it looked fabulous! It also tasted great. We had 2 different flavours. The bottom tier- marbled mud was served to our guests. The middle and top tier, both fruit cake was given to our family and kept for our first anniversary. We were lucky to be able to try some of the fruit cake given to family and it was rich, not overly heavy and just the right amount of sweetness. We are very much looking forward to having our top tier!

I had 4 dreeses altogether and 2 of the dresses and my hoop were purchased from Spurling in Penrith. Lauren (Manager) was so helpful and gave all the right advice. She had so much patience and nothing was too hard. It was an adsolute delight dealing with her!

My flowers were booked through the company who did the decorations. Even though the messages were relayed through a third party, they made up the bouquets, flowergirls' bouquets, buttonholes, cake topper and throwaway bouquet as I had described them. I got my dream flowers and couldn't have asked for more!

A 5 hr DJ was part of our package. They have an extensive collection of music and although we were based in another state, all it took was a couple of emails and our music choices and preferences were all fully accommodated.

I couldn't rave enough about Mark Dayman from Infusion Imagery. He travelled to QLD from VIC to do our shoot. He was friendly, pleasant and extremely easy to work with. Mark has a really good eye and an adventurous side as well. He got us onto the main road and took shots of us there. As we were quite short on our time for photos, Mark made full use of the 'scenery' around the hotel to ensure we did not miss out on any good photo spots.

They have an experienced and professional in-house wedding coordinator who ensured my day went the way I wanted it to. She provided me with handy tips and advice which assisted me in making the right decisions. For me, as I was planning my wedding from interstate, this was a huge help. Their packages also included most things which meant I did not have to find much more. We held our ceremony in the chapel, there is also a outdoor lawn area for a garden ceremony with the chapel as a wet-weather backup. Our reception was held in the Phoenix room which was located on the mezzanine level. As this was the only room on the mezzanine level, it allowed our guests to use it exclusively. The room also had a veranda which overlooked the city skyline. We had fairy lights draped along the veranda and guests used it as an outdoor smoking area and also for fresh air. This meant we didn't have guests straying away from the reception venue and kept everyone together. The 3 course dinner was absolutely delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests. It was hard for us to pick our final choices as the variety offered all sounded delightful. Our package included a 5.5hr beverage package and the selection was ample for our very discerning guests. Our package included an absolutely gorgeous bridal suite on the 23rd floor with sweeping views of the hinterland and the coastline. We had 4 in the bridal party, 2 hair and makeup and 1 phtographer and 2 videographers, a total of 9 people and it allowed us to move around each other quite comfortably. The wait staff at the reception led by the banquet supervisor delivered excellent services throughout the evening. There is also ample undercover parking for all our guests. All in all, I highly recommend holding your wedding at Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise!
