Many couples are chosing destinations weddings, which means there could be family and friends who are unable to attend. A vow renewal is a wonderful ceremony to have where you can be with your Australian family.
Like a wedding, a vow renewal is made up of the same beautiful components, each with its own purpose and meaning to you both, only without the legal requirements.
There is no requirement for any proof of your marriage or Statutory declaration as it is not a legal ceremony.
Couples hold a vow renewal for many reasons, like yourself you married overseas, or it may have been many years since you first walked down the aisle together, or your anniversary could be an occasion you would like to celebrate by the making of new promises and commitments to each other.
I hope you have a wonderful day renewing your vows with your Aussie family.

The wonderful thing about a vow renewal is there is no paperwork requirement. It is a celebration of your relationship shared with your family here. Often with overseas weddings, many in the family are unable to attend so it is lovely to celebrate again with everyone there. Enjoy!
If your original marriage was a legal ceremony overseas, there is no need for any paperwork or legalities, if your already legally married. You can still have a beautiful renewal ceremony, with elements of your original ceremony included and a commemorative certificate.

No there is no requirement to prove anything, you can have a renewal as you wish.
It would be nice to refer to the place and date of your original wedding in this new ceremony and also bring something forward from then to now.
Vow renewals are a lovely occasion and can happen any time after your wedding with no legal requirements
It is not a legal ceremony and no paperwork is required but your celebrant will want to find out some detail about your wedding story in order to make your renewal ceremony personal and special for you both.
Best wishes and I hope you find the perfect celebrant to help you to organise a wonderful renewal ceremony for you - I am in the process of organising one for my parents after 60 years!
kindest regards

No need to prove anything, if you want to renew vows that is a wonderful thing , the ceremony for this is non legal, only need some back story to weave into your ceremony to remind everyone of your love for each other.
