no, but you could get married here first and then elope on your own

As per all the other responses. I have just performed a wedding ceremony on the front door step with a couple and their 3 children in inner Melbourne, they chose their very best 2 friends to support them and be their witnesses. However, there are options as long as the witnesses are genuine and have ID or supplied by me. There are many super places to elope to, as well as your own home. Good luck and congratulations. Congrats! There is nothing more exciting then throwing caution to the wind, doing what you really want to do and ELOPING.
It is important to make sure that you are legally compliant if you want the wedding to be official and if so, you will require two witnesses over the age of 18.
There are a number of ways though that you can arrange this - without the witnesses being involved in your more intimate moments. Should you wish to get a bit more information on this please do not hesitate to get in contact. I love to assist couples in haing elopements that are exactly the way they want. Hello,
Even if you do elope you will still need 2 witnesses over the age of 18 for your marriage ceremony.
No you will always need 2 witnesses over 18. Jeff Munn
All witnesses have to be over 18 years of age and each legal wedding ceremony must have at least 2 witnesses. I hope this help. Elizabeth Halley Civil Ceremonies
Congratulations on your decision to marry, You must have two witnesses to your marriage who are over 18. If both your children are over 18 they could act as your witnesses.
Otherwise your celebrant should be able to arrange witnesses for you.

You've got lots of advice here about the importance of witnesses to make the wedding valid legally. Know that it is fine to keep your wedding small, personal, inexpensive and to elope if that's what you both want. Your celebrant will help you do all this legally as that's our role. :)
You must have two witnesses who are over the age of 18. They can be family but the age is important.

Certainly possible, however, you must still have two witnesses over the age of 18. These do not necessarily have to be known to you, they could be anyone as long as they meet the criteria.
You will have to enlist an authorised Celebrant and it can just be a simple, short ceremony.
