Hi there. We're considering a weekday wedding, maybe a Thursday or Sunday. Is there anything ] different or unexpected we'd need to consider about having a non-Saturday wedding?

These are becoming more popular.
Just be aware of extra work day traffic on the roads.
Some hairdressers don't open on Sundays, however, there are plenty of mobile options.
As others have mentioned, your Guests will need a little more notice to take the afternoon off work for a Thursday.
Some places will ask you to finish earlier on Sundays, but start your package earlier.

Absolutely not, these days are wonderful days for a wedding and you might find you have more options to choose from as Saturday's tend to get booked up so quickly.
With plenty of notice your loved ones will arrange any required time off work necessary, I say go for it!
No difference at all! Sunday weddings are popular and weekdays, especially Friday's, are increasingly so. Suppliers sometimes offer a reduced rate on a weekday. Checking availability of your guests will be a factor, to best ensure they can attend on your chosen day. Enjoy!
One thing to consider if you're having wedding at around 10:00am in the Yarra Valley is that there is morning peak hour traffic particularly on the Eastern freeway and around Princess street. Also if you're having an afternoon wedding there, you have to consider the afternoon peak period from around 2:30pm as this adds on time for your journey. Most tradies knock off at around then particularly on a Friday.
For me there's no difference and many of my clients choose an auspicious day so I'm happy to accommodate them. Some guests may find it difficult to leave work but some of my midweek weddings are small.
Just the hangover for your guests on the day after, other than that, there's NO difference from a celebrant!
Nothing unexpected - venues are usually cheaper during the week. Will your guests be able to attend during the week ? Give everyone plenty of notice as they would need to organise re work commitments or travelling. All the best to you both .
The only real thing to consider, is your guests' availability. As you probably know, you must bring two adult witnesses to the wedding. However it's usually (but not always!) the case, that you'd like a few guests, as well. If so, just ring them and see if they might be available. As an afterthought, after a Thursday or Sunday wedding, I guess a wild celebration afterwards might not be too suitable if everyone has to return to work the next day with sore heads!
Weekday weddings are great, you save money and often your preferred vendors are available! One thing is you need to give guests notice as they need to organise work and children. If you have over seas or interstate people it's a bonus as they can make a week of it !
Absolutlety not, weekdays are cheaper than weekends for me as a celebrant, as they are for many venues. However a Sunday is priced at weekend rates.

Weekday weddings are becoming more popular because of the backlog of weddings from lockdowns and so many weekends are full booked.
And our special servcice people such as police, ambulance and so forth marry during the week as they are rostered on, and their friends are rostered on, more at weekends.
Nothing else matters except yourselves, your family and your guests.
You may also find you get a discount at the venue !
