Your dog is such a beautiful addition to the ceremony. Afterall they are part of the family.
Make sure your fur baby, is looked after by someone who they know well. If a groomsman is well known to them, well and good.
Some other guest who the dog knows well can stand up with your attendants.
Best of all ! have your dog as your ring bearer with a little collar holding the rings. Fabulous !!

I have done lots of ceremonies with dogs and they can involved in many ways.
Can be there on show, they can carry the rings, they can be in photos.
Like with a small child it is better to have someone else assume the role of handler for the day or for the hour.
Dress them up, parade them around but dont forget to enjoy yourself as well
Hi there!
I've done several ceremonies including funerals where dogs have been present - and at one wedding the dog had the rings in a little barrel attached to their collar :-)
My advice is only to bring well-trained dogs and/or ensure that the designated dog minder on the day is well-equipped to manage the dog.
Some couples prefer to hire a dog walker/sitter so their human guests can relax during the day.
A dog trainer can work with your dog leading up to the day, too, if you really want to ensure things go as smoothly as possible.
Hope that helps. Have fun! :-)
My advice is, if you want your dog at your wedding, have your dog at your wedding! My biggest tip would be to invest in a handler so that the pressure is taken off you and any loved ones that you want to enjoy the day. They take wonderful care of your furbabies and will be able to chaffeur your pup from the wedding venue to home if required as well.
Yes, do it! As a loved member of your family, he can add even more to your ceremony! Your memories (+ photos/videos) will be even more special! You know your dog better than anyone and how he is likely to behave. If, say, he's quite excitable or unpredictable you could consider some specialist behavioural training to best ensure your pooch is 'ceremony-ready'! Arrange a trusted 'minder' for your day. Many trainers offer this service. Someone who will look after pooch, getting him there and home, guide his ceremony duties etc ... ensuring you don't have to stress about him on your wedding day. Your ring-bearing dog is sure to be one of the many highlights of your ceremony. Have fun!

Good afternoon, the only advise I have is, have your dog on a lead and enjoy your ceremony
Often couples have their dog as the ring bearer. Often the dog is placed at the front and is on a lead or kept somewhere else for the duration of the ceremony. In some instances, if the dog is well trained it is allowed to run to the couple unleashed so the rings can be untied. If there is some concern about the dog's behaviour it can be walked to the couple while on the lead and the rings untied.
Some venues may have a no animal policy or there are strict guidelines in place for the accommodation of the dog following the ceremony, so it's always a good idea to enquire first.
Dogs as ring bearers, dogs as dog men, dogs as part of the ceremony is awesome and you really do get the most amazing photos too.
WeddingPaws are on Insta and these guys are truly awesome!
Enjoy the wedding with the pooch involved!
Yes, a cute idea and my last wedding involved 2 dogs. One walked in with the Groom and as soon as the music started the dog fell asleep. The second dog was carried in by the Man-of-Honour ,who held him the entire ceremony. They had a pet handler employed for any unexpected problems . Also the music played during the ceremony was played several times before wedding so no surprises. It was very cute:-) I have also seen the dogs used as ring bearers .
Good luck with your plans.

Furry friends and family members are fantastic as ring bearers.
There are a number of places where you can purchase a special suit and/or collar to hold the rings although it is a good idea to have dummy rings in the collar to ensure they don't get lost if anything unexpected happens.
Dog handlers are terrific and there are a number of people in specialise in weddings and you may find them here on EW.
