FAQ

To ensure your marriage is legally valid under Australian law, you must provide:

  • Evidence of Birth: Your original birth certificate or a valid passport.
  • Proof of Identity: A driver's licence or passport.
  • Eligibility to Marry: If you have been married before, you must provide official proof that the previous marriage has ended (e.g., a divorce order or death certificate).

Note: As your celebrant, I am also required to meet with each of you separately and in person prior to the ceremony.

The legal process requires a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) to be lodged with me at least one month before your wedding date. This notice remains valid for up to 18 months.

Absolutely! I have officiated ceremonies across Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, and regional NSW. Travel to locations outside my local area is available for an additional travel fee.

Every wedding is unique. My fees typically range from $650 to $1,100, depending on your specific requirements and the type of ceremony you choose.

To provide a tailored quote, I’ll need to know a few key details:

  1. Date and Time: This helps me check availability and identify peak vs. off-peak pricing.
  2. Location: This allows me to calculate travel time and logistical costs.
  3. Guest Count: Helps determine the scale and complexity of the ceremony.
  4. Ceremony Type: Are you planning an intimate elopement, a small gathering, or a large celebration?
  5. Additional Services: Do you need a rehearsal, a fully personalised script, or other bespoke services?

No. You do not need to be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident to get married here. As long as you meet the standard legal requirements (such as age and the lodgement of the NOIM), anyone can legally marry in Australia, regardless of their nationality.

No. Your witnesses do not need to be Australian citizens. The only legal requirements for your two witnesses are:

  • They must be 18 years of age or older.
  • They must be present to hear the ceremony and witness the signing of the documents.
