So, what's the process?

  • Firstly, get in contact with me and see if I'm available on your big day, let me know where your ceremony is, and I'll get back to you asap with a quote.
  • If you like what you see, we can organise an obligation free meeting (face to face, skype/facetime, or phone call) so we can all get to know each other, discuss ceremony ideas, and you can decide if I'm the right celebrant for you.
  • A few days later I'll touch base with you to see how you're going, and if you decide to lock me in...after quietly celebrating the excitement of getting to marry another awesome couple...I'll get a few of the formalities over and done with:
  • I'll send you an email with an invoice (deposit due within 7 days of confirming booking) that will officially lock in the date for me, a template for you to fill out that will allow me to transfer all your details to a number of documents that I must submit, and some information about our next meeting(s).
  • We'll organise a time to get together and sign the "Notice of Intended Marriage". This must happen, at the very latest, 1 month prior to the wedding date. *note: if we are unable to meet up in time and I can't witness the signing of this document, I can give you a list of people qualified to do so.
  • We'll also go through the structure of your ceremony, and I'll take notes about "your story" - the fun part! This is the part that really personalises the ceremony for you guys (amongst a heap of other things - the options are endless!). 
  • After this, I will go away and put together the first draft of your ceremony (you'll receive this 2 weeks before the wedding day at the latest).
  • We will work through things until it is perfect for you.
  • As close to the wedding date as possible, we'll meet up one more time to sign one more document (this can also be done if we choose to have a rehearsal for the ceremony).
  • Then I'll see you there, at the end of the aisle, on the big day! I'll perform your personalised ceremony, we'll sign 3 different documents (you'll need 2 witnesses as well - anyone over 18 that is attending the wedding), and then present you to your family and friends as a married couple!
  • In the build up to the day and behind the scenes, I'll be getting all the legal stuff covered and liasing with you -unlimited phone calls, emails, text- about all the little things we can do to make your day as amazing as possible.
  • After the wedding, I will immedietely send off the appropriate documents to Births, Deaths and Marriages, and then will assist you in applying for your official marriage (you can use this to change your name etc.)

Do you have your own PA system that you can use for our ceremony?

Yes! It's portable and wireless, so it'll be perfect for any destination! I'll be using a wireless mic and can even operate your music (bridal party entrance, during signings etc) through the speaker too.

Do you travel?

Absolutely! There will be an added cost, however.

For travel more than 100km (round trip) from my home in Singleton, it will be $25 per 50km extra (for both ceremony and rehearsal).

I also travel interstate - we can discuss arrangements if this is required.

On the day, when do you arrive and when do you leave our ceremony?

I arrive 45-60 minutes before the scheduled start of the ceremony to set up and prepare.

After the ceremony, I will usually leave my PA system set up for another 10-15 minutes, just in case you or your photographer for example need me to make any announcements. I will then attempt to inconspicuously touch base with you both, congratulate you, and get out of your hair (I'll also ensure that your commerative marriage certificate makes it into the hands of a very close family member to look after while you are being showered in congratulations).
