OVERVIEW

I love the whole process of getting to know you as a couple and incorporating your love story into your special ceremony to create awesome memories.

My name is Ronald Cruickshank and I love helping couples create beautiful loving memories of their special wedding day!

I have provided hundreds of marriage ceremonies for couples, creating and officiating at their marriages and wedding ceremonies since 2012.

I make the whole process very simple. Start with sending me a message and I will reply with access to the whole process, providing information about the steps to take, an online booking calendar option. we can meet up online, at my Booral residence or at a place of your choice - your home, cafe, park or wedding venue. 

Start with a notice of intended marriage meeting, at least one calendar month before your wedding day, where I will help you to complete the necessary forms and explore all the options for script, and equipment. We can do this by Zoom, Skype, Whatsapp or in person at my place in Hervey Bay, or I can come to you if you are local.

I am linked with many specialist services from wedding planners, venue providers, photographers, videographers, musicians, caterers and even a wedding insurer!

I love spirituality and I have been taking great delight in solemnising marriages since 2012. From very simple beach marriage, garden yard wedding, or your favourite venue! From just a few friends, to the full deal with all the bells and whistles, I will enjoy meeting your every need. Working with you as a couple to design the perfect ceremonial script is always a delight and a source of inspiration. Renewing wedding vows and christenings is also a very special time!

FAQ

Your Marriage/Wedding Package start from $800 and includes:

  • A Notice of Intended Marriage Form Meeting - completion and submission.
  • Composing with you a Legal Worded script for your wedding with all your special components,
  • Conducting your marriage service at your location on the Fraser Coast (outside travel extra),
  • Supply of PA systems with wireless and corded mics, bluetooth or plug in music of your choice.
  • All of your legal documents taken care of in a professional manner.
  • A beautiful printed Certificate of Marriage, and Your ceremony script presented to you, with other useful information, at the end of the ceremony!
  • Everything submitted online for fast responce certificate time!

Here is the Process:

Step 1:

You will need to arrange a meeting with me to submit your Notice of Intended Marriage Form at least one calendar month before your chosen wedding day in order to meet the legal requirements set out by the Attorney General’s Department. Book that meeting online from my website calendar, it's easy! We can complete the form at my place, zoom or skype online or over the phone, then have it signed soon after.

 

Step 2:

Attend that meeting. Ideally, it is helpful if you have ID documents ready for yourself and your 

partner including:

  • Your Birth Certificates if born in Australia, or your passport if either of you are of international birth.

          Some Photo ID such as a Driver’s License or Passport,

  • If previously married I will need to sight the divorce papers, or death certificate if widowed.

Note: If you are unable to supply all of these documents, that is ok, but I will need to sight the original documents prior to the marriage ceremony.

At this meeting a deposit of $90.00 is required to secure your wedding day in my diary.

 

Step 3:

At this meeting we will complete the Notice of Intended Marriage Form as much as is possible, and when you are happy that the content is accurate after proof reading, we will arrange a date and time for all to sign it. This Form will remain with me until after the marriage is complete. I will provide you with a pamphlet put out by the Justice Department with useful information about marriage in Australia and where to find support services if needed.

 

Step 4:

Once step 3 is complete, we will discuss the wedding script. I can provide you with several drafts to work from in hard copy or digital form by email. We will determine the date, time and location for your wedding and discuss your desired dress code and what you would like me to wear, everyone loves the top hat! It is beneficial if you choose an outdoor wedding, to have an alternative backup venue in case of rough weather.

 

Step 5:

We will communicate with each other in finalizing the script and any other issues that may arise, by phone or email until you are happy with the process. Once this phase is complete, I will prepare all of your required legal documents to be signed at your marriage, and your decorative marriage certificate.

Step 6:

Attend your wedding venue at the decided time, prepared to be married with two witnesses who are prepared to sign your legal papers. Witnesses cam be anyone, friends, family, or people you have arranged, the only legal requirement is that they are over 18 years old and speak the language spoken at the ceremony or have an interpreter present if not.

 

Step 7:

I will arrive 30 minutes early and we will conduct your marriage ceremony in regard to your wishes and in a professional manner. After the ceremony we will proceed to a table where we can all sign and witness the legal documents and your pretty certificate. At this point, congratulations are in order accompanied by much cheering.

 

Step 8:

Cake cutting and champagne! Traditionally a wedding feast is held somewhere after the wedding, and this is your personal choice. The celebrant does not attend the feast unless requested to do so. I love a party!

 

Step 9:

I will submit your signed legal documents online to the Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, usually on the same day or the next day after the wedding, but definitely within 14 days of the wedding as is required by law. 

 

As I submit your signed documents online, I can apply online for your “Official Marriage Certificate” to be posted to you and pay the registra's fee and postage if you arrange for this with me at your NOIM meeting. I will remind you when you meet with me.  You will need this Official Certificate to conduct name changes in Passports, Drivers Licenses, and many other business registrations and such. 

 

I can apply for your Official Certificate of Marriage on your behalf when submitting your documents online, the cost of the certificate, delivered to you by Registered Post, is $61

If you do not see an available date for your wedding, no fear, I am very adept at shuffling my calendar to suit!

Yes! We can gather all the information by phone, Skype, Zoom or Facetime and complete your Notice of Intended Marriage quickly and easily. I will guide you through!

We can no longer leagaly sign the document online, so you can sign it with me or take your copy, emailed to you, to a notarary person listed on the form near the signature section and sign it with them as a witness, then send me a copy electronically or by mail.

You will need to produce originals of all ID documents used, and of the signed Notice of Intended Marriage before the marriage ceremony can commence, so bring them with you!

This method works well for international people planning to marry in Australia, e.g. from a cruize ship, or a fun elopement!
