You're engaged, and looking for your vendors, you read 236 reviews but still, you're not quite sure.  Then, you stumble across my page.  You look at the photos of some of the beautiful people I've had the privelige of marrying but it doesn't really tell you much about me as a celebrant, which, for someone who writes ceremonies, I find hard to put into words but I'll try. 

Couples come to me with the most personal parts of their story — how they met, how they fell in love, what they’ve survived together, their quirks, challenges, and hopes. I learn what makes them them, and turn that into something meaningful.  It’s less like a sales job and more like being trusted with a chapter of someone’s life.

A lot of couples come to me and as part of our initial meeting, I'll ask them what kind of "vibe" they're looking for and the overwhelming response is "light hearted, not boring, a little bit of humour, not too long and still sentimental".  As well as nailing this brief, I carefully craft the words, structure the pacing, guide the emotional tone, and make sure my couple is legally married at the end of it all, inclusive of ordering and paying for their official marriage certificate. 

I am part-writer, part-performer, part-administrator

        •       Writer: I create a ceremony that's authentic and tailored to you.

        •       Performer: I deliver it confidently, clearly, warmly, and with attention to timing, sound, and presence.

        •       Administrator: I handle legal paperwork, register the marriage, and make sure everything meets legislation.

I carry the pressure so you don't have to.

If the party to the marriage standing up the front waiting for the second party is nervous, I will remind them to breathe, I will have your vows and plan Bs, if a mic stops working, or a family dynamic gets tense — I'm the calm one.  If your DJ or musician can't play your ceremony music, I can. 

I reassure, adjust, improvise, and keep everything flowing so you can stay in your moment.

There are early mornings, late nights, travel, last-minute changes, practice scripts, editing, meetings, rehearsals, and paperwork.

But when I see a couple’s faces light up as they hear their story told back to them… it’s worth every part.
