About

Hi, I am a Mum of three adult daughters , two grandchildren and happily married for the last 34 years. During Covid I decided a change was needed after working in administration throughout most of my career. With my love of people, bringing joy and spreading happiness I studied and 3 years ago Kim Hemsley Celebrant was formed. I absolutely enjoy being able to fulfil a couple's vision of their wedding ceremony bringing to life their special day.

We could not thank Kim enough for everything she did and brought to our wedding ceremony. Kim was a pleasure and a kind hearted soul from the get go and we are so thankful we chose her to be our celebrant! We had a intimate ceremony on the beach with around 30 people and Kim brought love, respect to our passed loved ones, humour, storytelling and the perfect amount of sass to express our love for each other on our day. I highly reccomend Kim Hemsley as your celebrant, she is kind, thoughtful, listens to your story and beautifully blends in moments that are important to your journey. Kim made our day so memorable, she helped us have the ceremony we had always hoped for. She was very clear on the whole process, helping with any questions we had along the way. Kim was fantastic from start to finish. She is warm, friendly, understanding, prompt and flexible to our needs. Kim made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire process. After taking the time to get to know us as a couple, she crafted a ceremony that perfectly captured our personalities and the essence of our relationship. Clear and constant communication leading up to our big day made everything a breeze. There were many things we hadn't considered but thankfully Kim had everything well in hand and made it a special and seamless event. We felt completely confident in Kim. We were absolutely thrilled with our celebrant, Kim , from our first meeting, she was punctual, beautiful smile, kind, professional, warm, and incredibly helpful in planning our ceremony. Can you become a marriage celebrant and officiate your own wedding?

What an interesting question, but alas no you cannot. You do need to have 5 people for a legal wedding. The couple getting married, an authorised celebrant and two witnesses. Enjoy your wedding as part of the couple, it is a beautiful and moving celebration of you both,

How common are rehearsals now? ANd rehearsal dinners?

Rehearsals are totally up to the couple, however I have found most couples prefer to have one as this gives them an idea of where they are standing and what is going to happen. I do explain this all to them also but a hands on rehearsal calms those jitters a little I believe. I have even performed a rehearsal in the parents home as the venue was too far away for everyone.

Can we involve our child in the vows/ceremony?

Your child can be involved in your ceremony in any way you choose, it is only the legal part of the ceremony which cannot be changed and only invoives the two people who are getting married.
