This question is often asked by couples. The answer is no. Its your day you can do whatever you want. Wedding favours are a gesture of thanks to your guests. Wedding favours, guest gifts or Bomboneire are the different terminolgy given. There is a long history of wedding bomboneire that evolved with the French and then moved across to Europe. Don't feel pressured to do a wedding favour if that's not what you and your partner want to do. Many couples use the favour as part of the table setting for their guests, including colour themes and name tags. These days there is a lot on offer in this area and many couples are DIY their gifts. Enjoy your wedding planning and I hope the above helps you.

Bomboniere is a tradition that has evolved over the years. There are no rules when it comes to giving Bomboniere however it is seen as a gestur of thanks to your guests. At the end of the day its what suits you and your partner and what is affordable.
Good luck with your wedding planning.
do i have to give bomboniere?
looking at options and can't seem to find many that suit all genders and interests. Any ideas?
Great question and congrats on your pending nuptials.
Bomboniere started in France over 300 years ago. A small box of of bon-bons was given at various celebrations including weddings & christenings, this then spread through to other parts of europe in particular Greece & Italy. It originally consisted of and uneven number of sugar coated almonds, representing the hi's and lows of married life. The five almonds represented happiness, health, wealth, children and a long life.
Bomboniere has evolved over the years and you will see many wonderful and creative ideas many of which double up as the place card setting. At the end of the day this is you and your partners special day so if you want to forego the bomboniere that is entirely up to you and your partner.
If you are looking for a gender netural gift we supply personalised glassware. We can include your names and message on the glassware. Feel free to check us out on the Easy Weddings website.
I hope the above explanation of Bomboniere has helped you and wish you all the very best as you plan your special day.
Great question and one that is often asked. The amount is solely dependent on you and your partner. Depending on how many guest you are having to your wedding will utlimately set out what you want to spend. Majority of couples work around a budget of $5.00 - $10.00 per guest.
The best thing to do is to set a budget that way you can look at the various options in the bomboneire category and see what works best for you and your partner.
Happy wedding planning.
All the best
