Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, 69, has married for the third time.
His new wife, American heiress Nancy Shevell, 51, looked stunning in an elegant knee-length white dress, reportedly designed by McCartney’s daughter, fashion designer, Stella.
It was topped off with a white gardenia in her hair and a small posy of roses.
Sir Paul donned a navy blue suit with a light blue tie for the nuptials, which were held at the same London marriage registry where he wed first wife Linda in 1969.
As the newlyweds emerged from the Marylebone Town Hall, the waiting crowds cheered and showered the glowing couple with rose petals and confetti.
The groom proudly raised his new bride’s arm in triumph and, when asked by reporters how he felt, McCartney gushed, “Terrific, thank you. I feel married. I feel absolutely wonderful.”
The couple’s modest civil nuptials lasted about an hour and was witnessed by a handful of close friends and family, most of whom continued the celebrations at Macca’s St John’s Wood home in East London.
Among the guests were TV host Barbara Walters (the bride’s second cousin) and the only other remaining Fab Four member, Ringo Starr.
McCartney was previously married for 29 years to American photographer Linda who died from breast cancer in 1998. He wed Heather Mills in a lavish, multi-million dollar Irish wedding ceremony in 2002, but divorced four years later.
Independently wealthy Shevell, heiress to her father’s trucking fortune, was previously married for 20 years to a lawyer. She currently serves on the board of the New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
