An Wedding MC is responsible for more than simply introducing names on a list and making announcements. The Wedding MC is responsible for managing the entire reception from start to finish, liaisoning with the venue managment and staff, trouble shooting(if required), Guests Inquiries, ensuring the recepton runs smoothly and does not go overtime.
Some MC Wedding Duties may include:
- Arrive Early at venue to ensure seats and tables are properly setup,
- Seating Arrangements of your guests
- Liaison with the venue management,
- DJ/Entertainment is setup and ready to go.

Hello I'm Brendan and have been a Wedding DJ for 8 years and Wedding MC for 4 years. The most important part of the Wedding DJ is planning I am always happy to meet with my clients face to face and plan the music or wedding reception formalities. I have a background in music worked previously in community radio as a DJ/Producer. Have also worked for a Large DJ Company in the past.

The Wedding MC ensures the wedding reception runs smoothly they interact with venue staff and troubleshoot if required. They will plan with you and ensure all details are correct and everything is in check. If you are having the formalities such as Formal Speeches they will host and that speakers are prepared. A MC will keep the wedding reception flowing and that it does not run overtime. They can also assist with your wedding guest and answer any questions(to best of their knowledge) such as some guests will ask the Bride & Groom What's for dinner? (even when there's a menu on the table).
Once I was at wedding as a DJ where the Bride & Groom spent thousands on food(seafood buffet), venue, photographers/videographers but did not have a MC and and the whole reception was badly disoragnised and fell flat. I offered MC Services and they refused, please do not make the same mistake.
