The Amicus Strings

Welcome to The Amicus Strings. Since our formation in 1996, we have become one of Adelaide"s busiest performing ensembles, with extensive experience in providing fine music for all occasions.

Our members are professional musicians who perform with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the Adelaide Art Orchestra, as well as for visiting artists such as John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John, Anthony Warlow, Rhonda Burchmore, Judi Connelli, Julie Anthony, Marina Prior, Rob Guest and Glenn Shorrock. In 2004, we featured in the wedding episode of "McLeod"s Daughters" which was aired in October 2004.

Music can be played at any part of your wedding to provide a memorable experience on your special day. We can perform for the ceremony, pre-dinner drinks, reception or any combination of the above.

Our repertoire includes Classical, Light Classical and Popular music (ranging from 1930s to The Beatles and beyond). We typically provide an ensemble consisting of strings only, or a group with strings and flute such as:-
• string quartet (two violins, viola and cello)
• flute quartet (flute, violin, viola and cello)
• string trio (two violins and cello)
• flute trio (flute, violin and cello, or two flutes and cello)

However, a group other than those listed above can easily be arranged to suit your needs. We also work regularly with trumpeters and professional opera singers.
